December 11, 20214 yr Definitely not thread worthy under most circumstances, perhaps the mods will determine it still isn't even during a lockout.
December 11, 20214 yr We’ve found our left handed hitter indeed! Now the only question is if they’ll put him at second or in right.
December 11, 20214 yr Pretty much injured for four years and when he last pitched in the minors this year, fantastic numbers: https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=finneg000bra&type=pgl&year=2021
December 11, 20214 yr Wow, he fell off the face of the earth. I mean I don't know if his old ceiling is still in there, but it's worth a shot on a MiLB deal.

December 11, 20214 yr Funny since Finnegan was my reference for converting pitching prospect from bullpen to starting
December 11, 20214 yr Anyone know how is stuff is today compared to when he was drafted? I am assuming injuries have left him as a shell of his prospect form.
December 11, 20214 yr I was a big fan of this kid when he came with the Royals. Here is one of the “find lightning in a bottle” bullpen additions that could yield a nice return if something clicks, however unlikely that may be.

There’s some stuff in this article from March saying he was back in the 92-94 range in spring training, has been working at Driveline, and added a curveball. I’ve got nothing talking about how he was this year other than his stats struggling at AAA, and some 2019-2020 articles about how he was back to throwing in the 90s but it wasn’t translating to results on the field. https://www.redlegnation.com/2021/03/01/cincinnati-reds-pitcher-brandon-finnegan-shows-good-velo-new-pitch-monday/

December 12, 20214 yr seems like a worthy left handed milb flier, we've certainly signed guys with less stuff
December 12, 20214 yr His stats do look like the lefty version of Fulmer - I wonder if he spins it like Fulmer. Just cut the walks by 2/3 and we have a major league pitcher! Worth a shot. Edited December 12, 20214 yr by GreenSox
December 13, 20214 yr Interview: https://www.soxon35th.com/interview-with-newly-signed-white-sox-reliever-brandon-finnegan/amp/ Edit: It’s probably the most worthless interview you could possibly read. This sucks. Edited December 13, 20214 yr by hi8is
