Fangraphs projections have spent the last year plus suggesting this wasn't a top tier team

  • Just not an overly talented team this year compared to the top teams. Blame Hahn for a horrible offseason.

If this organization was serious about building a contender, Bryce Harper would be their RFer.

Seriously, they have to DFA him by the end of this month, unless he gets a few hits.  Fat chance.

Looks to me that even Cesar Hernandez would have been a better choice than Harrison.

Fangraphs never liked Jimenez or Madrigal...

Think that feeling might have been gas.

Having Pilkington and Madrigal around would have given Hahn more money to waste on relievers

Jimenez and Madrigal sure.  Moncada jury is still out on.  Vaughn and Robert look fine.  Pitching looks fine.  It's all the veteran crappiness that Hahn has surrounded it with.

If you're still waiting on the jury for Moncada, not sure what to tell you.

Good all around ML ballplayer, but will never be a game changer offensive force.

11-2 Twins over Indians.

Royce Lewis first career homer, a grand slam. Polanco and Gary Sanchez starting to heat up.

Was fucked the day they hired TLR

Way before that . TLR was Reinsdorf's icing on the carrot cake.

Yes, but it took Buxton half a decade to get to where he is and he's finally coming into his game just now.

He has MVP talent...maybe not the speed tool to dictate games to opponents by stealing bags, but they will eventually give up on him and he will be a star somewhere else.  Just watch.

One of the teams playing tonight, had an approach in the offseason to fill the visible holes, cut dead weight, and properly prepare for the 2022 season.

The other, is the White Sox.

Should have resigned Rodon to begin with.

Of course Judge/Stanton start missing the middle-middle hangers once games are finally out of reach

It's not like we didn't shout this to the rooftops all offseason long.

Dump Kimbrel off the roster by buying out the option cheaply and at least offer the QO to Rodon.

Good point. Because that’s what a good manager does. But it’s okay, he’s a hall of fame manager. The media can’t question him because he’s a hall of fame manager.

Can the Hall of Fame designation be rescinded ?

At least, as things stand right now, the Sox won't have to face Cole again next weekend

Does it matter?

There probably is a role for Sheets on this team vs RHP, honestly

Gavin still wants to play, apparently.

Holy Sheeeet . he did it again..

The offense has been showing more of a pulse lately. I think it does.

even tonight, they've now done more against Cole than I was expecting

Gavin with more HRs than Abreu, in 30+ less ABs.

The patented late/r game comeback where they give Sox fans just enough to tune in tmrw despite Keuchel pitching.

This 6-9, there can't be a worse 6-9 on any other team that has a semblance of competing, much less actually going for it all.

Sheets is getting dangerously close to giving the Sox a 4th above average hitter this season by wRC+

Add that to the Ron thread.

Rays or Giants would be the only two.  SD possibly.
