What were the Giants thinking?? He might accept and then they'll be stuck with an ace on 1 year deal.

3 and 39 is less than what FG had as their median crowd source. Pretty reasonable deal for a guy coming off a 4 WAR season.

Not a bad contract.

Especially compared to what Montero got

This is a good sign that the SP market is pretty good. I can totally see the Sox getting Clevinger. Especially since the Angels were one of the teams after him.

With Anderson, it gives them 5 starters for next year.

I think there's a good chance we see Abreu ending up in Houston with Rizzo off the board now.

The guy is older and has pretty much sucked except for last year. Unless he’s the second coming of Rich Hill, I think the Angels are going to be sad soon.

Hahn's not messing around this year, huh?

It would be kinda funny if one Cuban replaces another. I hate the idea of Jose playing for Houston though.

As long as it’s not the Cubs, Guardians or Twins

I think it flew under the radar how terrible Gurriel was last year because the team around him was so good. Abreu would be a massive upgrade for them, unfortunately.

Watching Jose kill the Sox in the division over the next year or 2 would be brutal. Cleveland seems too cheap to sign him, at least.

It'd feel like the Jim Thome situation all over again.

Yes, I do not like him and wouldn't have wanted to sign him... But 13 mil a year isn't much for a SP coming off a great season, let alone an okay season.

Gotta think Abreu's next contract looks similar to this one

I’m with you here. Classic Angels.

No, it's gonna be 3 years and $75 mil cause Jon Heyman said so.

He's gonna be 33 next year. With his style of pitching, I doubt he ages that poorly.

The Angels do seem to botch all their FA signings.

I'd just be beyond skeptical of buying high on someone who found success as a reclamation project on the Dodgers.

All of these cause me pain.

Somehow the Astros cause the least pain.

I want him to sign with the Cubs more than anything.  That could be the straw that finally breaks the camels back.
