Angels 23-0 over the Rockies after 11 and 8 run innings... barely halfway through.

Five homers, including Drury (Sox could have looked at but apparently out of budget) and Trout.

what the f***?

Player comp "Nick Madrigal" my ass.

Trout out for 4-8 weeks after fracturing his hamate.

The Brew Crew decided the Reds and their fans were having too much fun.

They secure the series with 3 consecutive shutout victories, including 44K across the 27IP.

Maybe Tampa should make a move. Houston got Alvarez and Altuve back and said, "Hi, remember us?" They're leading 16-2. HR Abreu (10), Yordan 3-5. Chas (bleepin') McCormick has a .900 OPS. Weird fact: McCormick and Jake Meyers their 2 centerfielders, each hit right, throw left. Can never remember a team with two of those types.  Anyway, Houston still a formidable team for anyone trying to win the AL.

They had Straw before that...all fairly similar CFers.

.900 OPS. Straw has never dreamed of that.  Mirage or break out? McCormick has over 200 ab. I wish we could teach people to hit like that.

I mean complementary/supplemental players that are not the core of the team.

As you pointed out...Straw's offensive limitations ultimately pushed him off the roster to the Guardians.

Update:

Brent Honeywell released by the Padres. Wouldn't mind claiming him.

Ooops remembered him as Chance/Chase....too many former Sox prospects that flamed out.

Neat thread, guy worth cheering for.

Probably a better story if he wasn't 3/29 but definitely a ton of resilience to hang in there...and not quit.

He had that really premature extension so hopefully he kept/invested some of that money.

Next pitcher to be drafted from Fullerton Union High School is gonna feel the pressure.
