August 14, 20232 yr Think Carson Kelly would be a pick up for the Sox to get them through the rest of this and possibly next season until prospects arrive. He is 28, a solid defensive catcher, Arb 1 eligible (likely $4M-$5M range) and he could possibly be flipped for something decent next July if he can return to being an average offensive catcher. Neither Perez or Grandal are legitimate catchers at this point. Would hate to rush either prospect and screw up their development,. August 19, 20232 yr Angels just turned a triple play to get out of first and third, no outs in the 9th of a tied game. ....and they lost. In a game where Shohei hit a slam to put them up 5-1 early, and their first round pick got his first hit, and they turn a huge TRIPLE PLAY. They leave in the guy who got bailed out in the 9th in for the 10th even as he was stumbling off the mound and at 40+ pitches. He gives up 3. Angels go 1-2-3 in their half. Speaking of their 1st round pick Nolan Schanuel... 40 days after the draft they called him up and then he gets his 1 hit has an unassisted DP and has the assist on the throw home that completed the triple play. Think he would be a good fit to mentor Seby or Lee, help with the staff as well. Doesn't appear to hit anymore, but that is not important for 2024.
