Taking some off for better control? He has had better command today then I've seen in awhile.

This is what I was thinking.

It looked like he's getting some good movement, too.

I’m already past that BS. If he pitches really well and helps Sox make playoffs, I’ll nominate him for Sainthood.

  • Ricky’s boys don’t quit

Romy is our M*A*S*H unit for all our stars with owies who cannot play.

I just hope he can be effective with that FB velocity, if that's where he is going to be now.

He’s got to be 94-96 IMO with his inconsistent command.  Meanwhile, two good swings by Kath.

Yeah, I don't know how many bats he will miss if he has to come at guys with a FB low 90s.

Crazy Legs Kath.

Romy rbi bloop!

AV liner to RF

This is some pointless fun.

Still fun to beat the Cubs.

If he's not then he'll have to ramp it up.

The point of dialing it down would be to improve the inconsistent command. If the command doesn't improve there is no point in decreasing the velocity. He'll find out once the season starts.

I think we'll see all velocity decrease with the decreased time between pitches. Only a few will be able to maintain it.

3 straight Ks for Kopech

4 in a row.  Ks the side.

Much better stuff from Kopech there

This was the mantra under Cooper.  If he has three good pitches that he can locate he can be Giolito.

Did everyone think he was going to be throwing 100 as a starter.  Over time maybe he will find it when he needs it, who knows.  He's the #5 starter at this point.

Romy started like 1-11, took like a week off, and his spring slash is now up to .250/.315/.646.

If he started off looking like he has since his return, I wonder if we still bring Elvis back.

Wasn’t Elvis re-signed before games started?

Madrigal at 3B is going to be something.

The SCORE was great to listen to this morning when they were talking about the cub rotation.  I believe the segment was produced by Fathom and Jack Parkman.  While it may corm true this year, it is not as of now even a debate.  The White Sox have 5 legitimate starters. Neither club has any depth.

Yes.  Elvis was signed when we were hearing how awesome Romy was.

I've been thinking this too.

Cubs rotation should be very solid if Steele continues his 2nd half dominance.   It will be interesting to see who’s better this year, Kopech or Wesneski.

I expected upper 90s as a starter…and so did the Sox.  I don’t think anyone ever expected him to be in the 90 range, unless it was a slider.  Who knows what we will see with him this year.

Nice running grab by Gladney
