April 3, 20233 yr No games in minors 4/3 so will start this early. Still AAA. Looks like A, A+, AA start playing Thurs 4/6. Depending on the assignments, I may have to check out Bham this year. Think they could have a interesting group. Looking at the rosters, I think they haven't been updated since Kath is still listed on AA. Think that is from project Birmingham last year. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=04/04/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/2023-04-04/all/all/whitesox

Saw they play each other next week and got disappointed because I'm swamped next week, then saw it was in WS. The Dash come here in May. Here's hoping they're fun this year.

April 3, 20233 yr Montgomery is starting in Bham? He sorta faded down the stretch last year, it would be nice to see him cement that top 35 or so MLB prospect status right away. I was actually pretty surprised to see that the Sox had 2 top 100 guys on pretty much every list, Fangraphs, Keith Law, BA etc. Colas snuck in at the back in a couple with Colson top 40 and FG really loves Ramos, at #60 in their rank. FG has the Sox as the #18 system. Edited April 3, 20233 yr by chitownsportsfan

The Sox sent him there knowing he was exhausted and overmatched but they wanted him to have the experience seeing the higher competition alongside the other top prospects.

April 4, 20233 yr Billy bunt single, Haseley reach on error, and a Sosa bomb puts the Knights up 3-0 through 3. Stiever pitched 2 scoreless, Perez pitched the 3rd. Top Cleveland prospect Bo Naylor is starting at catcher on the other side. Edited April 4, 20233 yr by Autumn Dreamin

April 4, 20233 yr Sosa or Romy for 2B, lol... Rocchio is another top prospect at SS. Then there's Zack Collins, once famously referred to by Hostetler as 1 overall draft pick material.

April 4, 20233 yr I know a few folks have mentioned it, but I wouldn't be shocked if Sosa displaces Andrus at some point this season.
April 4, 20233 yr Sosa bomb again. Call him up! ? It was not a cheap one. Edited April 5, 20233 yr by DirtySox
April 5, 20233 yr Nice to see Lenyn swinging it. It is early to call for a change at 2b, but I'm a Sosa true believer, so I suspect he may have that job eventually.
April 5, 20233 yr Obviously it's to be expected with 2 HR game, but Sosa really is crushing the ball tonight. 4 batted balls above 95 MPH

April 5, 20233 yr LaRussa handled the Sosa recall last year so poorly it doesn't near revisiting. Personally more excited about Brayan Ramos, but everyone has their own infield favorites.
April 5, 20233 yr Middleton looked intriguing to me in ST as a bullpen flyer. His velo was up almost 2 ticks on the fastball. Edited April 5, 20233 yr by maxjusttyped

Here’s hoping that happens and obviously because Lenyn forces the issue. For whatever reason, it seems like Sosa is slept on way too much by the prospect community. To me, he screams 2 to 3 win 2B (despite not having a particularly loud tool), but perhaps I’m in the minority here.

Just in terms of raw power, I remember looking through some data last year and he would have been like ~80th percent tile in terms of max EV. If he's able to start tapping into that regularly, oh boy, look out.
