Harrison has been a non factor except one highlight reel catch over the shoulder on a quick adjustment. This game and Oregon//Wash working as de facto 1st round playoff games. That leaves Texas and Bama on the outside looking in...along with FSU minus Travis.

Could be the last Iowa team in my lifetime to make it (Kirk Ferentz will have less and less incentive, except financially, to stick it out with his son now cast aside, perhaps coaching the same school 30 years in a row???)...with USC, UCLA (goodbye Chip Kelly), Oregon and Washington coming on board. Somehow Cal and Stanford to the ACC seems even stranger.

Like Colorado Michigan? Or was that GaTech shared year? Georgia loses to Bama and likely no SeC team with FSU or Texas taking that spot. SEC really weak non conference results…PAC 12 was true gauntlet this year. Hope at least Wash or Oregon makes it…Washington loss, which feels likely based on recent trends, gums up the works as well. Btw, would have expected A&M to get a better coach with their unlimited resources…

A neutral rating system rating the top 8 conference champions (Sagarin or another like the MWC is using) would work as well. The current system exists to maximize revenue for Power Conferences (lock in nearly all 12 playoff spots). In a sport like college football, a team shouldn't have to defeat the same team twice (regular season or conference champion + "wild card" playoff spot), which already happened when Alabama beat Louisiana State in 2011 after losing to them in the regular season. It's a possibility this year with the losing SEC Championship team making the playoffs. Still don't see them going back down below 11 games per season after pushing for years to get it up to 12.
