We can talk about Jacob Amaya, Miguel Vargas, and Travis Jankowski instead.

Sure. Jankowski was on the team for 9 games. How much do you think he's set back the organization? Amaya's the best defensive SS in the upper levels. You're not complaining about things that are really a problem.

You missed the point.  Kenny and Hahn sucked but they were still better GMs than Getz.  Getz is that freaking bad.

Nope, I got the point clearly. Getz was left a smoking crater, and had to rebuild from zero with no budget. Hahn was gifted a World Series winner, and couldn't keep the string going. I think KW was a micro-manager who messed up everything Hahn had lofty dreams of. KW traded Burger because he hated Hostetler. That's a crazy level of dysfunction. Getz has had one off-season and one draft, really.

Maton, Taylor, Sosa.  The majority of the bullpen.  It’s all mostly a pile of suck and they currently make up the team.

Meanwhile, you mentioned Casper Wells and JB Shuck.  Casper Wells played a total of 37 games for the Sox in 2013 and got 71 plate appearances.  Shuck received a lot more play but did have a 0.8 bWAR in his first season with the Sox.  They sucked too but I’m not sure how your post is relevant but mine isn’t.  The suck is all over the roster now.

Getz and Venable’s new obsession!  🤣

And there it is.  Getz gets no blame for 2024.  Not his garbage offseason, not his garbage trades…  does he get any blame for 2025?

Dude, the house burned down. You're screaming because your shoes are getting dirty walking around in the ash.

I'm unsure of what blame you want assigned to him. Blame for his budget getting cut? Blame for having zero starting pitchers to build a team with? Blame for inheriting 3 overpaid slugs who would be injured by game 11?

Few of his moves worked out for the 2024 season. I acknowledge that every time you start this whole cycle of pretending the previous 20 conversations ever happened.

It's a special level of querulousness to look for minor league signings to be bothered about.

Getz WAS the smoking crater of Hahn/Williams.

So wait. Playing 37 games is beneath mention, but subbing in for about 5 games and starting 4 in a platoon is an indictment? LOL. That's ridiculous.

All teams are "obsessed" with AAA depth.

A question that was asked earlier is still relevant and hasn't been answered by you. In your eyes, when is it fair to say "This is the team Chris Getz assembled?" I'm actually asking...

Two MLB teams signed Jankowski this offseason and/or season — the Cubs once during ST and he didn’t make their opening day roster and the Sox twice.

I never said it was beneath mention.  I was just providing more insight to the two names you provided.

Meanwhile, I named multiple players and a bullpen that Getz assembled that should mostly be in AAA right now.  LOL.  That’s ridiculous.

He will be back up if/when Benintendi gets put on the IL

And getting starts as well.

I wonder how bad it would have to be for some to admit Getz has been a bust so far.

I'm optimistic about some of the structural changes that have been implemented. The trade returns outside Crochet seem awful though.

Agreed completely. It’s why I said he would have been better off overseeing the changes while letting someone else be GM.  So far, his talent evaluation seems horrific.

We will never find out because Getz gets years of runway because everything is still Hahn and Kenny’s fault apparently.

Getz is nowhere near Hahn-level bad.

The problem is we won't REALLY know until Getz gets to sign someone for more than 10 million dollars for more than one year, which we might not ever see.

I answer this every time it's asked. Now. Everybody seems to forget Getz was left with a horrible roster, and pretty much zero pitching staff. Oh, and his budget was cut to nothing.

A bunch of lesser trades of AAA bullpen arms for AAAA bullpen arms didn't work out. And he has to start having those work out. The Cease trade - the mob loves to acknowledge that JR probably forced that trade in ST to not pay Cease, then pretend that Getz forced JR to force him to make that trade.

I don't even care about people criticizing moves. Just at least try to make sense.

And 2 of those guys need to really pop  for that Crochet deal to be a big plus.   Crochet only had 2 years of control, but man he's a top 5 pitcher.
On the other hand, Santos for the #68 pick by itself seems like a good deal (if one values draft picks).

...Because the White Sox and Cubs both have an equal expectation to make a playoff run this year? You don't even try to make sense. No, Jankowski isn't Aaron Judge. He's AAAA depth, a 4th OF on a bad team. Are you somehow mistaking this year's White Sox team as one of the top teams in the game?

He gets years of runway because he's not even 2 years into this rebuild. Teams don't generally win 100 games in their first year of a rebuild. Look it up.
