Thank god Getz went outside the organization and hired Gene Watson or else we would have never thought of signing the Dallas Keuchel of relievers.

So what is the plan here?  Sign all the worst free agents available, don’t develop any of your own much younger players, and do the same thing next offseason once all of these awful one year contracts are DFA’ed or expire?

Like WTF does this move accomplish?  I didn’t think I could be disappointed with this signing after predicting Amir Garrett but alas he we are with one most puzzling moves in my history as a White Sox fan.

Other teams (Astros and Padres) dumped these guys for improvements.  We pick up their trash.

Really don’t want to hate on every signing they make but they are making it very difficult and challenging with every signing.

Hill wasn’t that bad in 2021 and 2022. That’s probably what they are thinking. But it’s hardly any money so if he sucks it’s not that big of a deal.

Any random waiver wire pickup would have more upside than this.  But I’m sure this dude flashes some leather and is great in the clubhouse.

Why even spend that money at all though, they had equally as disappointing options already in house.

Getz’s two most recent acquisitions will be a combined 71 years old when the season starts.

They’re signing as many roster fillers as they can while slashing the budget an insane amount.

Has been solid up until last year. 

Nothing to get excited over but he is still better then bummer and lot cheaper (this matters to jerry)

Look deeper than ERA.  Look at his dropoff in K/9.  He’s toast now.

Are they filling the different holes on the roster with cheap, old FA's and then going to spend some money on a SP and RF???

This dude and Paul DeJong should have been MiLB signings. Very cheap though.

Surprised Maldonado got as much as he did from the Sox.

It’s a pointless signing but it’s not really worth getting upset about either. Which is what you can say about virtually their entire offseason so far.

I get why everyone was so sick and tired of Bummer, but this guy is definitely not better than Bummer.

Bummer was a lot better than his reputation around here.
