March 10, 20242 yr I can't imagine knowing exactly what this team is going to be this year, yet spending any amount of time researching their spring training team stat rankings. Obvious stat is Obvious. Well no s%*#.
March 16, 20242 yr Author https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/white-sox FG has Nastrini and Crochet in the rotation, Leasure making bullpen Bench of Stassi Mendick Pillar Sheets Wilson Brebbia D.Garcia Kopech Hill Banks Leasure...Toussaint as last pitcher on the roster. Keller better not be the next starting option.

March 16, 20242 yr FG seems pretty close. if not Sheets, it’s Moustakas. I am not sure Fletcher has locked up rf. He has not looked particularly good. And Ortega of all people is getting tons of abs. The fact that Getz mentioned Nastrini on the broadcast yesterday is a good sign for him. Though, if there is a roster crunch, that would benefit Shuster. I do not think Toussaint makes the team unless he has really shown something in his bullpens.
March 17, 20242 yr I found Baseball Prospectus solid in terms of Rotisserie projections over the years beyond the validity of PECOTA, because their staff does a solid job projecting playing time and keeping up with changes. Here is the link to BP’s current White Sox projected 2024 playing time splits: https://www.baseballprospectus.com/orgs/chicago-white-sox/depth-charts/ Depth chart analyst: Brian Duricy Pitchers (Innings > 30) Hitters (Plate Appearances > 175) Starters (8): 1. Relievers (8): Brebbia, Kopech & Wilson (64); Hill (57); Garcia & Peralta (50); Banks & Speas (43) Catchers (3): Stassi (280); Maldonado (210); Lee (175) First base (1): Vaughn (595) Second base (2): Lopez (385); Sosa (245) Third Base (1): Moncada (595) Shortstop (2): DeJong (385); Shewmake (245) Left field (1): Benintendi (595) Center field (1): Robert (595) Right field (2): Fletcher (385); Colas (280) Designated Hitter (2): Jimenez (520); Sheets (420).
March 17, 20242 yr No matter the line up this KC look alike will fail. Bring back the Go-Go White Sox or the Southside hitman
March 17, 20242 yr Can we kind of get back on topic of the projected starting lineups? Three questions: 1. When discussing starting rotations, not sure how or where I heard or read it, but it seems clear, or it was strongly implied, that Drew Thorpe is going right into the starting rotation. Does anyone else get that vibe from Sox media? Merkin doesn't have Thorpe in his starting rotation, but I got a feeling from his earlier discussing the trade and on Garfien's podcast that Thorpe would be stepping right into the starting rotation. 2. How would Crochet being a starter work? Would he go longer that three innings? I can't see how he should. And really, even with three building up to four or five inning starts, I can't see him pitching into July, unless he's taking two weeks off between starts. How will this work? 3. Is the idea to use Crochet for a couple months, short outings, and then bring in Thorpe or someone else ?

Not gonna be Shewmake now. I wonder about Jesse Chavez. I get that he's a "respected veteran" but eventually you get too old or Eddie Collins would the Sox second baseman. He has been lukewarm garbage all spring. Maybe it doesn't matter. In which case, stop touting what a competition the whole thing is.
