Now that TA is gone, what is going to replace the quasi gangsta fist thing players did when they got on base?

Fans of a team that just had an inside-the-park homerun shooting, have no room to talk about other teams’ fans.

It's like White Sox fans are auditioning to be Red Sox or Phillies fans.

Well that's not necessarily a bad thing, Boston and Philly have had a hell of a lot more success so fans would have more to cheer for.

Blatant racism is more important than baseball wins.

Apparently, publicly cheating on your wife and knocking up Instagram hootchies is also more important than baseball wins.

Thread soon to be cancelled/closed/locked, lol.

Some people just don't see themselves as trashy as they appear IRL.

The sad fact is that Tim Anderson could’ve “changed the game” and been the next superhero for young African American kids everywhere to want to play baseball over basketball and football, but he decided that extracurricular activities outside of his wife and family were just as important as his performance in his baseball season.  Bad decision.

From the Field of Dreams game against the Yankees when he was at his zenith of being a star to absolutely sucking last season before he hit free agency because he was too busy worrying about his Instagram side piece…

Now he’s an afterthought of a player who has to sign with the lowly Marlins for almost the same money as 37 year old Martin Maldonado.  What a pathetic and embarrassing fall from grace.

Any comparison of Anderson to Jackie Robinson has proven to be short-sighted and completely off-base.  The guy will be forgotten in baseball history in ten years.

After the treatment of Frank Thomas, Sox fans should realize they're not going to get the benefit of the doubt when criticizing black players, especially when those criticisms include "gangsta" and thug. You would think a fanbase associated with Bridgeport would be more aware of this.

Apparently TA cheated on his wife or something. I suppose that's unique among professional athletes and he should face the ire of people who have nothing to do with his personal relationships.

No one used the term “thug” in this thread and the original poster said “quasi gangsta fist thing” that players did.  Players, as in plural.  Multiple players, not just Anderson.  No one in this thread called Anderson a thug or a gangsta, but keep trying to create some sort of racist controversy where there is none.  Anderson would still be in a Sox uniform if he didn’t suck so historically bad last year.  And it’s far more likely that he sucked due to his messed up personal life than racist comments from fans.

It's been made into a major deal here like he ruined everything with a side piece. Had no idea ballplayers did that. There are women who follow these guys around all the time.

Sure they do, but it isn’t always made public in several gossip sites like in Anderson’s case.  Apparently, he wasn’t very discreet.

This is one of those classic meatball takes that means nothing.

This thread is going down harder than Tim Anderson fighting Jose Ramirez.

Dusty Baker already turned on his former teammate.

The difference is at least those Dodgers' teams came together to win on the field.

When you suck as hard as Timmay did last year, you would be celebrating every time you got on base as well.

.1000 slugging percentage with Instagram whores, .261 on base percentage at his actual job.  ?

Just imagine if the Sox would’ve wasted $14 million on this loser’s option.

Well, technically 1.000.

That's a pretty good "pull" rate.

Thought Fathom would like that one.
