Woods Richardson vs. Soroka

Pham and Mendick in the line up. This is a lock.

Soroka has by far the worst FIP of all qualified pitchers in baseball.

The combination of below average velocity and bottom of the barrel control is a big problem. If he can throw more strikes I guess it's possible for him to become something of a poor-to-fair starter rather than a horrible starter.

Today would have been a perfect day for baseball. 

Soroka is the worst. Bummed out. 

I just read that Jose Abreu is in West Palm Beach (Astros spring training facility) getting at bats to work on his timing. The guy was always a professional. Maybe AV can follow this example.

Gotta give him props for agreeing to be optioned. Most veterans don't.

AV doesn't get a choice if they want to send him down, however.

As we noted in the other thread in Sox Drawer, he had no choice, well, he could have, but he would have thrown away 35 million or so by voiding his contract.

Sheesh Soroka looks great.  He's getting it and throwing strikes.  Hopefully he can keep it going for a few more innings.
