Last place finish guaranteed !

Car will blow a ______ around the first turn. Guaranteed.

They'll spend money sponsoring racing cars and what not but spend money on top quality baseball players?

You're joking right? ?

the worst thing about it is it isn't even the guy who was just in the booth giving an interview about nascar. tony robbins or whatever.

In NASCAR they wave the white flag with one lap to go.

I don’t follow racing, but looks like the guy got into NASCAR in 2007 and has 3 wins. Seems like the perfect guy for the Sox.

They sponsored Ty Dillon a couple years ago. He's the NASCAR equiv to the 2024 Sox...

McDowell on the other hand is a helluva good driver. On the Chicago street course, he'll be competitive.

That is one badass looking car.  I will be doing a search for a picture I can frame and hang in my mancave.

All the White Sox international draft pool money was just traded to the Marlins for the rights to that exclusive Sox NASCAR sponsorship for the remainder of the racing season…Miami owner apparently has F-1 as well Miami Grand Prix and NASCAR interests.

”We’re certainly hoping to reach out to a new demographic of Sox fans who aren’t responding to our traditional marketing approaches after such a tough start to the 2024 season,” offered Sox GM Chris Getz encouragingly.  “We believe this will broaden our appeal as another window of unlimited financial flexibility slowly but surely opens…”

Look if there is any organization that can represent going in circles for long periods of time and then ending up in the exact same place they started, it's the White Sox.

Excellent post

Now guaranteed to just have to flush it.

I understand the need to advertise in any business. And I doubt the "baseball staff" was much involved in this venture to say it's a distraction.

But . . .

It's sports. Just fucking win. That's way better than any advertising to put butts in the seats and eyeballs on the TV.

Nah, not that.  Any other ideas?

Wasn't this NASCAR thing a huge disaster for the city anyway? Why are they doing it again? Mayor "Let's Go" Brandon believed NASCAR's 'economic impact report'?

According to officials, the race brought in more than $8.3 million in state and local tax revenues in 2023, with 52% of attendees visiting from out-of-state for the event. The broadcast was NBC's most-watched NASCAR race since 2017, and the most-streamed race in NBC's history.

Today is the big day).  The 'Grant Park 165' starts at 3:30 PM CDT live from the streets of downtown Chicago on NBC, Channel 5 WMAQ-TV.  Radio:  MRN The Motor Racing Network, AM 890 WLS (and 94.7 WLS-FM-HD2 using HD capable radios).

The #34 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse sponsored by Chicago White Sox, driven by Michael McDowell starts in the 3rd position .  Let's cheer Michael on to victory!
