Now we can root for the Suns to beat Warriors/Clippers so the pick can be #15 instead of #16.

  • AKME gonna try to turn in their 100 2nd round picks for a top 3 overall pick like they're at the prize counter at Dave and Busters.

I had very low expectations and that is somehow still lower than them.

  • The Kings really saw the Bulls roll out Zach and DeMar for years and said "we'll do that "

I like Mara and lot, but I'd be a lot happier if he was the pick at 15. Bulls have needed a rim defender for years now and this would give them that. I know Matas has been a blocks machine but he still doesn't feel like a "Rim defender" to me.

Still think he's going to get bullied around until he gets much stronger.

Similar to Holmgren wuth okc but not as athletic/dynamic.

Mara will not be an impactful NBA player outside of blocks

Also not a consistent shooter...of course Momcilovic is the gold standard, looks like second round for him.

Maybe not being in the first round projections was enough to scare him off.

Iowa State athletics with some rough weeks in fb and now both bb programs.

Speaking of projections, it seems like after the top 6 or so, projections seem to be all over the board. Seems like it's a good thing. That 2nd round pick might bring back something of value as well.

Let's pretend the Bulls do win the lottery. Hypothetically speaking, would you try to trade 15 and maybe even a future 1/some of the 2s for a proven player? Idk if I'd go all in on Giannis or not, but maybe a player like Michael Porter Jr or someone of similar stature.

Or would that be a year too soon? Would you try for Giannis? How much would you give up? Would you give up Matas? Is Giddey-Giannis-Dybansta/Peterson a good enough "Big 3" to win a title?

No way. This team is not two players away from winning. And honestly, the Bulls don't have enough to trade for a Giannis, as they would need salaries to fit as well.

No - you don't win with rookies so its not the time for that sort of move. Keep building assets and than when the time is right pivot. Now if someone were to tell me Ja could be had for Patrick Williams and some other stuff in a pure change of scenery - yeah I'd do that presuming Billy D sticks around cause I trust him to handle that. But even if you win the lottery - you are going to be bad next year, that is okay. I do think having Jones and Giddey as floor generals on offense does help ensure you can appropriately develop people.

Peterson and a directionless franchise?

No no and no.

Why not Zion and Morant?

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the Bulls could absorb Giannis contract. Again I could be wrong here, but i also think they could hypothetically go over the 1st apron to resign let's say Simons or Sexton and Zach Collins.

That gives you a starting lineup of Giddey-Simons/Sexton-Dybansta-Giannis-Collins with Jones as your 6th man, Jalen Smith as your primary backup big, Okoro as a defensive stopper off the bench, Miller as a seemingly emerging 3/4, andddd....Patrick Williams.

PG- Giddey/Jones

SG- Simons/Okoro

SF- Dybansta/Williams

PF- Giannis/Miller

C- Collins/Smith

Just my opinion- that team looks pretty limited - when Dybansta starts to take off, Giannis is not there and they don’t have assets. I’m ok if they want to use cap space for more assets or to take a flyer but I’m not trading Matas at this point. I’d stick to draft approach and find ways to creatively get more picks and assume we suck again next year and get a high pick.

First and foremost let’s jump up into the top 4!

I think thats fair. I just thought it'd be an interesting topic to talk about. I know around the trade deadline we were still talking about acquiring Giannis.

That being said, I do think there's a path to relevancy pretty quickly if the do somehow get a top 4 pick and I would strongly consider trading 15 for a proven player....If the top 4 guys live up to the hype then them plus Giddey, Matas, and a pretty solid bench is probably a play in worthy team.

seems like it will be Lloyd. Too cheap to get Bob Meyers to bring us out of hell. Gotta find a young guy that can be best friends with the failson.

Austin Brown is super intriguing and I'm happy the Bulls are looking "Outside of the box." I put that quotes because the whole sports agent turned front office thing seems to have worked out in most cases. The before mentioned Bob Myers was an agent before becoming who he was with the Warriors.
