  • AKME gonna try to turn in their 100 2nd round picks for a top 3 overall pick like they're at the prize counter at Dave and Busters.

  • Buehrle>Wood
    Buehrle>Wood

I had very low expectations and that is somehow still lower than them.

  • The Kings really saw the Bulls roll out Zach and DeMar for years and said "we'll do that "

Uhh yea? This is pretty on par for a Reinsdorf press conference.

When was the last time you read, saw or heard JR saying he screwed up was my point.

When he fired Hahn and hired Getz.

Don't think anything Michael said was anything different than his father, including Michael saying at one point "If you know my father at all, you know how important winning is to him."

Actually feel worse for die hard Bulls fans than Sox fans, as there is at least some hope down the line with new ownership. When the old man finally goes, Michael will still be leading the Bulls.

I guess it depends on your definition. I don't recall JR saying anything close to it "being my fault."

And to be clear I'm not saying Michael will be any better but I was struck by his honesty in the press conference.

I really didn’t see much different. Michael said it was time for a change, he really liked AKME personally, he put a head coach qualifier on the next hire, didn’t commit to the full embrace of analytics, talked about how they always have done things over the years, said Sam Presti was great but good lord we can’t tank (and, honestly, call it whatever you want but they have been tanking. Just at the worst time), talked about how this is such a wanted job.

All the Reinsdorfs do is make half promises and talk half truths. Nothing about that press conference was reassuring to me

The Reinsdorfs do not care about winning. I really wish at a press conference someone would call them out on it. The Bears may have finally done some things to win after shitcanning Ted Phillips but who knows.

Jerry Reinsdorf doesn't give two shits about winning and for his kid to say that and the media not laugh in his face is something.

The Bears used this playbook of hamstringing GMS, coaches and QBs with cycles of failure and musical chairs in which one ofthem always remained.

Tre Jones is low key really good at basketball. That's one of very few wins for AKME. Leonard Miller looks like a solid future piece too. A bench of Jones, Miller, Sticks, and Williams is already in place for next year.

I keep squinting and seeing a potentially really good team next year if the basketball gods are with us.

The fact you mentioned Patrick Williams as a bench piece and potentially good basketball team in the same post... no disrespect but put down the kool-aid.

I want none of these misfit toys on the bench next season. Blow it up

There are probably worse #9s on good teams. He may not even be that if everything goes right. His salary is an albatross for sure, but he's still quality defensively.

He's been too long in one place and it's time to go, time to go.

If they can trade him, that's huge, if not, he's just a quality defender off the bench. It is what it is right now.

.......

Portland beat the Clippers yesterday which was a huge game. They're now tied in the standings with 1 game to go and Portland owns the tie breaker. Portland plays the Kings who are currently tied for the worst record in the West and will probably do their best to lose that game......Blazers have been pretty hot recently, so unless they decide to straight up tank 2 games in the play in, #15 should go to the bulls.

Don’t count anything until it happens. And Patrick Williams is trash. He does nothing on the court and I don’t think he is a plus defender at all - he was solid early in his career but his lateral movement is slower so he is a positionless player in the worse kind of way.

Goal 1 - Get 9th worse vs 10th worse. Bulls are 2 minutes away from achieving that.

Goal 2 - Portland wins and gets in so we get their pick.

Goal 3 - Jump up into top 4 in lottery

Note: Goal 0 was cleaning out front office - goal 0.5 is making a good hire and investing in the front office!

Dybansta seems to be the favorite at #1, but am I wrong in thinking Peterson would be the best fit.

What do we think about Boozer or Wilson pairing with Matas?

I know we're counting chickens here, but its just talk.

Depends on if you get the disinterested Peterson or not.

Portland has to win 1 play in game for the Bulls to secure #15 or #16 pick. If they win Tuesday, Bulls get #16 pick. If they lose then they play the winner of Clippers and Golden State and then if they win that game, the pick is #15. I much, much rather them win on Tuesday against the Suns.

I'm not greedy - 15 or 16 work for me. Lets just get 16 so we don't have to sweat it out!

Suns are 1-9 in their last 10 while Portland is 11-5 over their last 16.

Obviously it's 1 game and anything can happen but Portland has definitely been the hotter team.

This is true. You'd think at the highest level with the chance to make ridiculous sums of money, you would get it a guy who wants to consistently dominate buttttt....

I love Caleb Wilson, and I think he'd be a good fit for the team and Chicago could have some fun with the Caleb W and Caleb W stuff. I'd gladly take the 4th pick.

I think my ideal situation would be getting Wilson at 4, the best scoring guard available at 15/16, and then Wilson's teammate Veesaar(?) at 36.
