I don't have much of an opinion one way or the other on the hire - I figured it would be Lloyd or the Boston guy (and for all I know the Boston guy could still be coming in as the GM). That said - while the franchises this individual is coming from don't excite me - I won't pretend to know much and will go to fact that league circles are not surprised he is getting elevated to this role (which at least says something).I also was excited we grabbed a guy from Denver last time and that sure was wrong - guy couldn't have been any worse. He definitely has a positive rep as a talent evaluator, and his drafts were pretty good when you look at 'what could they have drafted instead'.It's more that this team needed a big swinging culture change, with a no doubt boss (imo). When it was rumored Myers and Masai Ujiri, I think it was exciting. But grabbing obscure secondary execs and succeeding just doesn't seem likely from a Reinsdorf. They are far too vulnerable to lazy execs who won't bother them.

I take that combined with a comment somewhere around how the candidate they picked blew them away consistently in interviews around his forward looking visions and views that showed true leadership (along with fact he has a good rep as a scout). But that might be me piecing 2 things together as wishful thinking.

23 hours ago23 hr 19 year old Noa Essengue is now around 7 foot. Kinda crazy to think dude is still young enough to be growing. No idea what to expect outta him, but finding a head coach that is good at developing players has to be the key here. A 19 year old Essengue along with 2 top 15 picks and the still incredibly young Matas alll need it. I forget his name, but i was reading up on the Spurs assistant coach that the Bulls are supposedly linked to and he makes a lot of sense.... Guy was "Instrumental" on the development of Giannis....Defensive guru....KG loves him....hes a ginger....sign me up.
