I'm curious if we see something even more modern based upon one snippet - will we see more of a multitude of GM / Asst GM types brought in as part of this exercise. I don't have much of an opinion one way or the other on the hire - I figured it would be Lloyd or the Boston guy (and for all I know the Boston guy could still be coming in as the GM). That said - while the franchises this individual is coming from don't excite me - I won't pretend to know much and will go to fact that league circles are not surprised he is getting elevated to this role (which at least says something).

I also was excited we grabbed a guy from Denver last time and that sure was wrong - guy couldn't have been any worse.

He definitely has a positive rep as a talent evaluator, and his drafts were pretty good when you look at 'what could they have drafted instead'.

It's more that this team needed a big swinging culture change, with a no doubt boss (imo). When it was rumored Myers and Masai Ujiri, I think it was exciting. But grabbing obscure secondary execs and succeeding just doesn't seem likely from a Reinsdorf. They are far too vulnerable to lazy execs who won't bother them.

I normally say yes and I'm probably just too optimistic - but I think of some of MR's quotes of what he was looking for and how he wanted people being advanced thinkers and being forward leaning on the trends etc and how the franchise front office has consistently been on the slow side from innovation and seeing trends of the league. I take that combined with a comment somewhere around how the candidate they picked blew them away consistently in interviews around his forward looking visions and views that showed true leadership (along with fact he has a good rep as a scout). But that might be me piecing 2 things together as wishful thinking.

To use a baseball analogy - I think of the Dodger front office and quite frankly I think the Celtics are kind of structured that way a bit as well (in NBA).

19 year old Noa Essengue is now around 7 foot. Kinda crazy to think dude is still young enough to be growing. No idea what to expect outta him, but finding a head coach that is good at developing players has to be the key here. A 19 year old Essengue along with 2 top 15 picks and the still incredibly young Matas alll need it.

I forget his name, but i was reading up on the Spurs assistant coach that the Bulls are supposedly linked to and he makes a lot of sense.... Guy was "Instrumental" on the development of Giannis....Defensive guru....KG loves him....hes a ginger....sign me up.

Call it a hunch. I think the Bulls move into the top 4 today. I have win the lottery feelings. They might f*** around and win #1 overall. Makes too much sense for the league.

Fingers crossed! I'd be happy with 3 or 4 to take Caleb.

Lottery is about to start. C'mon lottery gods (and Silver) let's get top 4 and #1 overall!

WHAT I TELL YA'LL!!! I KNEW IT!!!

Dybantsa is pretty much the only one of the Big 4 I don't think will be on the board at #4.

Give me Wilson or Boozer.

I really hope it's Wilson. I'm sure Boozer will be fine but he just doesn't tickle my fancy as much.

I know the new GM brought up rebuild, but i still wonder if this changes anything. It at the very least should shorten the rebuild.

Likely Boozer or Wilson. Whichever one who doesn't get picked 3rd. I prefer Wilson but I'll gladly take Carlos Boozer's kid too. Fantastic talents.

So who is the high ceiling pop up prospect who will never get there?

4. Chicago Bulls

Caleb Wilson, 6-10, North Carolina freshman big

Chicago traded away its veteran core at the February deadline, committing to a youth movement — and a hard, overdue tank that led to a winless February. But it all felt sort of directionless with seven point guards on the roster, and only two players — Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis — being obvious long-term keepers. Now though, Wilson gives this franchise more direction. Wilson is the most gifted athlete in the draft class. He's 6-foot-10 with springs for legs. When he's flying above the rim, finishing through contact, and chasing down every shot in his area code, he looks like a future franchise cornerstone. That’s exactly what the Bulls need in the frontcourt. Wilson has never shot jumpers with any consistency at any level, so it’d be a bonus if he can figure that out. Even without the jumper, he has star upside.

Has to be Wilson here

Pray to god it’s not Boozer

"Pray to god it's not Boozer" is way too dramatic. Look at the stats the kid out up as a Freshman against the top competition. His number are stupid. Sure he doesn't have the athleticism Wilson has, but the guy is the most likely pick to become a multiple time all-star in this draft. Very high floor. Very skilled player already. And look at the players dominate the current NBA without relying on athleticism. Luka, Jokic, SGA, Brunson, Cunningham.

I'll be happy with Boozer or Wilson. The athleticism of Wilson is tantalizing. I'd probably prefer him due to his defensive upside, which we need when we have Giddey. But Boozer looks like a lock to be a multiple time all-star to me. Giddey and Boozer P&R would be deadly.

So many people on social seem to be down on Boozer, but every scouting report I've read on him would make me giddy.

It makes me think of the Luka draft.

Here's the super young, super skilled guy dominating the competition that doesn't jump out the gym - his athleticism comes from how he sees the court and uses his body. The Suns and Kings fell in love with Ayton and Bagley.

I'd be ecstatic for the Bulls to get either. Like you said, Wilson's athleticism and defensive upside is mouth watering. Boozer gives the Bulls another playmaker besides Giddey and adds some desperately needed rebounding. My very, very slight lean would be Boozer due to playmaking go for Mara or Cenac with the 15th.

I really, really hope Graham nails the coaching hire.

We should be thrilled - who knows what will happen - but all 4 guys at the top can be elite to well above average NBA players. If it is Boozer, I’ll be ecstatic, if Wilson awesome, if one of top 2 fall - awesome!!!

Why Jazz Trading Up for No. 1 Pick Makes Perfect Sense

The Utah Jazz got lucky enough to land the number two pick in the draft. But what if they wanted to move higher?

"They've (Utah) got one first-round pick in every draft for the next seven years and have an extra first at their disposal in 2029 via swap rights with the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Cleveland Cavaliers."

And ten second round picks as well.

For AJ Dybantsa, landing in a small market not a concern as NBA Draft ...

Why Jazz Trading Up for No. 1 Pick Makes Perfect Sense

www.si.com › Home › News

30 minutes ago · Dybantsa went to prep school in Utah, and Ryan Smith helped fund the NIL money for the BYU forward to attend the university this past season

Winner: Austin Ainge

Ex-NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer has worked in the Jazz front office over the past year. And now, Utah has the second pick in the draft — a prime position to draft his son, Cameron Boozer. If the Jazz had landed first, it seems highly probable Jazz owner Ryan Smith — a BYU alum and donor — would have the team select BYU forward AJ Dybantsa. But now the door is open for Cam to land with the franchise his father spent his prime years and now works with...

Bulls are weird cause they'll have a lot of fun toys, a lot of them raw (which is why my slight lean is to Boozer).

Tier 1 — Core: Giddey, Buzelis, Wilson/Boozer, #15 (hopefully)

Tier 2 — Young, raw, toolsy: Essengue, Miller, Dillingham

Tier 3 — Solid dudes with defined roles: Tre, Okoro, Stix

Shooting guard is the glaring hole. Funnily enough if you look at the free agents, Ayo is one of (if not the) best fit.

Part of me wants Peterson to fall, but also his make up scares the crap out of me. He is either a walking red flag, or had people out to ruin his rep.

I don't consider Giddey part of the core. Sure cuz of his contract he is right now, but he's not a guy I feel Graham considers a longterm piece. Similar to Pat Williams who unfortunately will still be around too cuz of his contract.
