Sure would be a nice fallback option at 1B if Murakami doesn’t re-sign. Oh well…

You know the trade is a total fucking disaster when Harold can’t even show his face to defend it.

‘To inject three offensive players into our organization was a wise move,” Getz said. Vargas viewed as middle of lineup hitter He would’ve been better off not commenting

Quoted for truth. Bob isn’t always wrong 😂

I keep hearing this idea that he was blocked. He'd be leading the White Sox in wRC+. Pretty sure that guy should have a home and not be released for free.

He was 3 years removed from his wrist break finally, so the idea his power could return was always possible. He always hit the ball hard before his injury.

Edit: he'd be second to Mune. Also, you have a source for the Sox changing Mead?

There has been A LOT written about how the Sox changed Mead’s swing, approach, and training to get to more pull side power. Here’s Google AI summary of the story: https://www.google.com/search?q=curtis+mead+2025+season+end+hitting+discussion&rlz=1C9BKJA_enUS999US1144&oq=curtis+mead+2025+season+end+hitting+discussion&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCQgAEEUYORigATIKCAEQABiABBiiBDIKCAIQABiiBBiJBdIBCTIyMDg1ajBqN6gCFLACAeIDBBgBIF_xBa9ZWrF38fQs8QWvWVqxd_H0LA&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&source=chrome.ob&ie=UTF-8#lfId=ChxjMe

Nothing shows up here, and all I've seen with Mead is that he went back to his pre-injury (2023) stance and hand positioning. I've seen a couple things on that, but nothing that it was directed by the White Sox.

I don't really trust AI summaries without a designated source.

Yep, AI slop is often wrong and you will see it associate a sourced story with the incorrect team.

AI told me that there is no way Mune signs an extension with the White Sox....no source but why would it lie to me?

Are we actually arguing that while with the White Sox, Mead received no coaching that helped him develop as a hitter? Maybe somebody can direct us to the site where baseball teams keep all of the transcripts of every conversation the coaching staff has with every player so we can comb through them and "prove" that Curtis Mead received any coaching here that he put to good use. LOL.

Just logically, what I’m saying is Mead got an offseason plan from the Sox that he then executed. He then spent most of the spring in the WBC or Sox Spring Training. Is your theory that the Nats changed his swing one game into the regular season?

Get with the program. It’s 2026. Nowadays, the organization has nothing to do with success of players. However, a long time ago, when Getz was in charge of player development, it was 100% the fault of the Farm Director if guys didn’t improve. At least this is what I’m told by the people who also told me the team wouldn’t be able to play at a .500 pace until 2030 at the earliest.

I was jeered for being "overly exuberant" and predicting anything north of 70 wins.

Find yourself a woman who's as obsessed with you as some of these guys are with the notion of Chris Getz failing.

I think its like 80% credit to Vargas and 20% to the staff giving him a long leash.

His biggest change was putting on muscle and swinging harder. Not saying they've made no swing adjustments, but generally I think this is mostly vargas. Team deserves some credit for identifying a player with that will to improve though

Numerous White Sox have showed bat speed gains this year, which screams to actual hitting development being in place.
