Apparently the Sox are only taking 1 guy in the MLB portion.

They should be able to get a couple of picks that would make the 26.  It's not like they have a ton of talent or depth

Typically you can hide a pitcher in the bullpen to get them enough roster time to own them.  But this year the guys in this draft are probably better than most of the internal candidates anyway so who

And there is a massive difference between getting the guy for 100k and getting him for Fedde and Kopech.

yabbour a MiLB RHP from Mets single A with first pick of MiLB portion.

Why not also just grab that lefty from the Guardians? Webb I think? Collect as many arms from teams that constantly churn out good pitching.

I would have liked a position player with that second pick. I dont see why not with the shape of this 40 man. At least none of the relievers got picked.

Prepping for Acuna's free agency in 2029 apparently.

White Sox passed in the MiLB second round, their day is done.

Still think they should have just grabbed another arm.

Yeah, I don't get it either, but sure.

Looking back, the White Sox didn't lose a single player in the MLB or MiLB portions of the draft.  If that isn't telling,  I don't know what is

A second pick was out of Jerry's budget.

Would have liked to see them take another shot at someone.  Do we really need Julks or Shewmake on the roster?

Smith's numbers look really promising. Unless he gets hit by a bus, he'll have a chance to

make it thru the season in the bigs. Well, our version of the bigs.

I see that Wikelman was added to the 40 man roster so I guess that played a role in not choosing someone in round 2

The Sox are going to sign some more free agents, so some of these guys will be cast aside anyways.

They could have just DFA'd someone after the deal was announced. And technically still had an open spot with the subtraction of Crochet.

And it's 100k.  If they come to spring and suck, send them back for 50k.

The willingness to be content with known junk like Tauchman and Slater instead of taking a shot on younger players is crazy to me. You just broke the record for losses and are on target to do it again, go crazy and throw players at the wall and see who sticks. There’s nothing left to lose at this point.

Yep, this is something Hahn at least did quite a bit more than Getz.  Obviously not very successful but why not try?  No one will remember Tauchman and Slater were even Sox in a few years except for the diehards.  Try someone younger…
