Schriffen does it again...

Someone has a Costco membership and they get rid of it and announce to everyone its because they have a problem with the products and service at Costco.

A little later, in a separate conversation, another person mentions they began to buy their olive oil from Costco and its made a big difference in their cooking.  The first person responds by saying,  "Costco is popular. If that's how you want to get your food, suit yourself.  It wont be where I get MY OLIVE OIL"

That is clearly not the same as "oh, I meant I just don't buy stuff at Costco because my membership lapsed... but I'm a huge fan of the Kirkland olive oil!"

He's either full of s%*# or so bent out of shape about twitter that he can't stop talking about it.  Both are weird.

Another thing... He's being a dick to Brooke Fletcher who is just trying to give a cool little tidbit!  She gives her report and he needs to insert himself in the story immediately and kind of shoots her down.

That’s why I thought it was so awkward.  Brooke was talking about it all excitedly and Schriffen just sounded like he crapped all over her story, haha.  He needs to have some better awareness on how he sounds.

Hey look I was right yet again.

I will take my apology from you guys here just like Rob did from John. Thanks in advance.

No thanks.  If you like his calls, enjoy.  You are definitely in the minority.

But the fact that the guy keeps sticking his foot in his mouth, whether it be intentionally or accidentally, shows what an amateur he is.

”Radio losers…”

”Haters…”

Schriffen is a clown.

He just seems to keep putting himself in these awkward situations.

You guys are terrible at apologies

Why apologize because Schriffen backtracked. He was clearly referring to pitching ninja

Schriffen is the little kid that runs around with a pair of scissors, even though his parents warn him not to, and then he falls and ends up stabbing himself.

Well I laid he it out before then. So if that's the case then, I'm either John Schriffen or John Schriffen is reading soxtalk to take his talking points from me. I guess I'm flattered.

Seems to me the Sox need to get rid of this Schriffen and add somebody who knows the franchise and city better.

Unless he has zero command of English, the antecedent of that "it" that he said was something he wouldn't use was "pitching ninja". If he's that bad at language he's in the wrong business. I don't think he is actually that inept, though

The "it" he was talking about was twitter. I can guarantee you Schriffen doesn't have a favorite place to get pitching analytics.

The overall point remains, this guy is a moron who keeps saying the dumbest s%*#. He better be gone next year.

That's not how language typically works. The subject pronoun would be referring to the established subject, which was pitching ninja. Not sure how this is even debatable

Common sense? There is 0 grounds for John Schriffen to bad mouth pitching ninja. There is plenty of evidence that he is not a twitter fan.

Ill just leave it at that, I don't want to defend this dipshit. Its not the first dumb thing he has said and certainly wont be the last, I just think people are taking this one overboard.

Sure, it could be Twitter he was referring to, but see my previous post or Lip’s article on why he left Twitter.  It all goes back to Schriffen being a dipshit either way.  🤣

Schiffren has lost the benefit of the doubt with his repeated gaffes...just like when Dan Quayle misspelled potato, there's no way to now get back the good will of hardcore fans used to Benetti and Harrelson who loved both baseball AND the Sox.

Oh definitely, these things don't continually happen to a good announcer.

It doesn't make sense in relation to the term source either. Twitter is a platform not a source, pitching ninja is the source. Maybe he is just a dipshit but I think he is more of a weasel in this case. Don't really care if he likes pitching ninja or not though

Again, how can we expect the media face of the franchise to know this stuff?

Ask Jerry not to hire guys based on how they look chewing his ballpark food.

There goes Fabio from the next broadcaster search.

Being John Schriffen’s assistant isn’t the brag you think it is.

Schriffen is one reason I am not watching the White Sox. Steve Stone is the other.

You can John isn't having any fun and his voice, at least imo, sounds rough in the latter parts of these games. Stone is just going through the motions as well he's not even trying. It's a bad broadcast all around although the new eye candy they brought in at least provides some visual relief.
