On one hand it’s good to see Sox making effort to catch up in the IFA market. On the other hand, even if these kids pan out, we won’t see any major contributions from these targets until 2035..

Sure, but you have to start somewhere.   And I would rather see this vs another over the hill utility guy or mediocre reliever.

The White Sox will also bid 300 million.

Wait, what?  The bidding is in dollars,  not Yen?  Nevermind.

Well that article was in Korean won/KRW.

A bit strange for a highly-hyped NPB player...to play the "insiders" role here early.

Well that was a joke you apparently missed.  Stand down.

The White Sox still might not spend even if KRW was equal to USD...

From spending two weeks in Osaka and Kyoto this summer... it reinforced how expensive everything in Japan is.

Tokyo even felt more affordable two years ago.

Playing at the top of the market is interesting.  Can't imagine some under the table money prior to signing doesn't exist.  I also notice that if it is paid in 2030, and there have been a lot of ifs already, it would be after Ishbia is in control.  Could this be a signal that under him things will be different or am I over reading things?

I dont think you're misreading things at all. There's  no JR money involved in this and no JR jurisdiction.
