By my eye, that seems like the biggest amount from the DR I can remember.  I could be totally wrong.

That jumped out to me as well. Seems like the most kids from DR in recent years.

  • This is definitely a thing. Guys get money at like 14-years-old. Sometimes they get way better and sometimes they get way worse.  David Keller has been all over the marketplace  He won't

  • I’ll have an international article out in the morning that offers plenty of context with Keller quotes etc.

  • I know. Just the concept of  A) A 12-year-old prospect inking that  B) It getting announced 5 years before it can legally be signed, with details about a prior contract falling through

Keller comments anywhere on players signed?  Any Mets' connections in play here?

So is Marco Paddy no longer with the organization?

Yes, Getz whacked him over the summer during the great purge.

"The Great Purge"...if we want to put it in far bloodier Russian historical terms.

  • And lastly, Armstrong Muhoozi of Uganda (Pirates) became just the second position player from the East African nation to sign with an MLB organization. Greg Presto spent time with Muhoozi over the last couple of months, and has a video feature to go with a great story.

Merkin's article quotes the signing bonus of Alan Escobar and Jefrank Sivla at $350k each.  If that's the case I think they've spent $5.6m of their budget and only have roughly $600k left for the year.

The White Sox had $543K remaining and they just traded an undisclosed amount to the Astros

Castro, 30, was acquired in a trade with the Houston Astros for $500,000 in international signing bonus pool allocation. He went 3-0 with five saves and a 2.29 ERA in 17 relief appearances with Triple-A Sugar Land this season.

Dumb dumb dumb.

JR is happy to save some of the money wasted on Workman.

The number of confirmed signings in the 2025 class stands at 24 players. This will probably rise.

One of the signings that was widely reported on January 15th - Roderick Medina 275k - was never confirmed. He pitched for St. Peter's HS (NY)  this spring.

Let's hope for better results than last year - 19 players signed, only 9 remain in the organization (9 released, 1 traded). Two of the remaining players were signed after the season had ended and haven't played a game.

That's pitiful. How do you get that info ?

I only use publicly available transactions and roster pages. Future Sox and other Sox sites are good for listing potential signings before the signing period starts on January 15th . I've got a basic spreadsheet and update it regularly.
