Crazy how the Orioles title window already closed. Their starting rotation is trash and they have no help on the pitching front in the minors.

lol…the offseason isn’t over yet.  I don’t disagree their rotation isn’t good right now, but they could still improve it substantially if they want to.  If they go with what they have, then Elias should be on the hot seat though.

The Orioles can score a lot of runs. They have had success with a patchwork rotation before. I predict they do nothing.

They were 40-41 in the second half of 2024 and then swept by the Royals at home with a patchwork rotation. I’m not sure I’d call that success.

They have plenty of prospects to improve their rotation with Mayo & Basallo being the big ones.  They may not cash them in, but they certainly have the ability to add some impactful pitching.  I agree they are mostly out of options in free agency though.

I don’t think so? This market for pitching seems “normal”, teams are giving guys contracts that mostly make sense. The only contract where I’d say the money made no sense was Snell. Money for pitching is mostly coming in where you’d have expected contracts to start the offseason, and Getz deal for Crochet, on paper, seems fair.

It was just a joke.  I like your posts.  I just can’t get behind trying to level the playing field in baseball just because owners like Jerry are cheap.  The Sox, A’s, Pirates, etc. can all spend more money, but they choose not to.  They can’t spend like the Dodgers but they could all spend much more than they do.  If we were all Dodgers fans, we would be laughing at these pathetic teams, and rightfully so.
