And outside people seem to be speaking well of what Getz is doing. I don't really remember too many people praising Hahn. KW was kind of made out as a dupe in Moneyball, and an intolerable a-hole in other reporting about his dealings with players. Hahn didn't get much separation from that.
January 10, 20251 yr I listened to the whole podcast. I'm not sure what to think because I am annoyed every time I listen to Getz talk. I appreciate McGuffy and Kaplan for having him there and asking certain questions, However the questioning did not really drill down to the level that I needed to hear. There was too much positive vibes about Getz and what he's doing with his process from McGuffy and Kaplan. By GOD we just lost a 121 games. This man was responsible for putting the white sox fans through that. There was a conversation about the have's (Dodgers, Yankees, others) and the have nots. No one reminded Getz that we live in Chicago, the 3rd largest market in the country when he started to make the White Sox seam like a small market team in his responses. WE LOST 121 GAMES AND HAD TO LIVE THROUGH THAT!!! I don't want to hear fluff questions for Getz. He has done nothing to earn any good graces yet. That includes the trades he's made, the FA's he signed. I understand he's overhauling the organization by bringing in outside people (am I suppose to applaud him for that?) because as of now there is no proof any of that has changed anything. The interview was too much a pro Getz interview. He does not deserve that leeway right now. Just my 2 cents....

January 10, 20251 yr I have only listened to half of it so far, and I usually try to be more opitmistic than other posters on this forum, and I generally defend Getz (What could/ can he do with Jerry stuff?). But what I've heard so far is just general cooperate level "stay the course" and "it's gonna take time" stuff. We've heard it all before FROM HIM over and over. I know he wouldn't go on a podcast to get destroyed, but I really felt both questioners were really throwing him softball questions.
