Talent has never been an issue with Moncada, so I think he'll be motivated to produce, and if he stays reasonably healhty, he'll produce just enough to stay in the Majors for the next few years.

It's sad, because the guy could've probably been a hall of fame caliber player if he had stayed healthy.

I still don't know how much stock to put in whether or not he cares or is motivated by baseball or not. Maybe he just hated playing for the White Sox. I wouldn't blame him for that.

Hibbard Jerksticks and poppy were five of the most optimistic posters here and look what the Sox have done to sap all of their collective enthusiasm.

Fathom is right.

I don't think Reinsdorf and Boyer understand quite yet exactly how battered and bruised this franchise is right now.

It will definitely be apparent in April and May crowds...spring training attendance, will probably get more Dodgers' fans blocked out of tickets for their half of Feb/March who just want to watch other teams play.

Glendale will definitely be a ghost town during the Tokyo Series against the Cubs.

I suppose it's a unique opportunity for that "dirty dozen" still persevering in their coverage of the Sox to gain all-encompassing/exclusive access...guys like Fegan and Margalus and Connor McKnight.

I'm pulling for him. When he's been healthy, he's been good to really good. He's always been a good teammate. There's really no reason to hate on the guy.

  • Sorry, but there's plenty of reason to criticize Moncada. Same reasons why we criticize Eloy.

  • The Sox already paid Moncada $5 million to go away.  They were not going to pay him another $5 million to come back, and rightfully so.  I hope he has a good year in LA, but he was all but useless aft

Okay.

Hopefully you won't be so grumpy with the new Captain America movie coming out...and Valentine's Day to top it off.

There is literally nobody who thinks they really know me quite like you

A lot of his skills quickly deteriorated though

Missed opportunity on a "diminished skills" reference.

Hall Of Fame lol. A healthy Moncada had a 1% chance. That would be a wild assumption.

Rendon is the all time fleece.

This is from last year...

Davis vs Rendon in the battle of who was worst, honestly it’s breaking my brain.  I can’t decide because Davis did have a pretty big couple of years (4.9 and a 3.1 WAR) in his first couple seasons after the contract (except for average) but it goes straight to the negative after that lmao

it’s honestly “which guy do I dislike more” imo 😂

Pretty wild that Rendon's 52 games played in the Covid year is almost his most games played in a season with the Angels.

I find it equally interesting that Davis accrued -1 WAR in only 16 games lmao

You think that's evidence? This board is the 228th busiest baseball site with a message board. These numbers are public.

To put this into context, this all started because I wished Moncada the best and that post has the most "likes" in this thread. Maybe traffic is down because of people like you and not people like me. IDK.

How many of those are Sox sites?  When it comes to the Sox - this place has more traffic than any of them - especially discussion. Twitter can have more isolated comments - but actual people trending together on views - this is it.  Also in terms of actual baseball forums or reddits - it is a high volume board - but yes - slower than the past - given the broader dynamics - but also heavily due to the team.

But overall - I wouldn't trade this for anything - its a true community....its also purely a hobby...not like we've ever operated it as a for profit or business.  It really is a place for Sox fans from all over the world to be able to come on, vent, root together, etc aligned to a common goal.

Don’t worry Chisoxfn, #1 in all of our hearts, save one person
