I can imagine a world where Thaiss gets traded for not much and Lee and Teel are their tandem. I could even see a world where they carry 3 catchers and one of the catchers is a DH almost every day. There are a lot of different ways to call a game,pitch to hitters weaknesses along with your own strengths as a pitcher, then there's game situations and strategies with matchups and open bases and outs . He did fine in the opener.Burke did fine pitching to him and he got a hustle hit. He still should be getting a good 65-70 % of the PT over Thaiss. We got McKinvin to improve our catchers didn't we ? Ultimately you want the guy with power, speed ,years and perhaps a valuable trade piece playing more than this year's version of Maldonado.
