I had a feeling the Sox would bring him back.  We'll most likely see him up with the Sox soon.

Figured that would happen. They didn't want to create a 40 man spot for an injury. Let him find a MLB spot elsewhere not that was going to happen then sign back with the Sox when that didn't pan out.

Because when I look at this roster I think, damn why don't we have enough 30 something's who won't be around when we have a chance of being good to block the guys who should be getting opportunities.  Thank god He Getz Us.

With Meidroth set to take over 2B soon and Ramos being ready soon as well, why does Getz continue to add vets that end up blocking younger players?  He did this same garbage last season.

Getz needs to Getz....He just needs to Getz fired from a position he was never remotely qualified for in the 1st place.

Without reading I’m going to assume it has to do with not being owned by a guy who does the Nazi salute.

Getz dive into the 30+ veterans' dumpster has yielded players that, as was said above, are blocking Teel, Meidroth and Quero.

Moreover, they are not helping to win games or adding an ounce of excitement to the games.  Getz is attempting to cover his azz with a lame strategy to eek out a few more wins, and even that has backfired.

He might be MORE afraid that if Colson Teel Quero Meidroth all struggle...they're going to be coming after him with pitchforks and torches.

That will only leave the Big 3 to market and this summer's #10 draft pick...they probably want to hold Schultz/H.Smith/Taylor back until next year for off season marketing purposes.

The Sox are already 2-8 and Jankowski and Taylor were starting games last week.  I think most reasonable Sox fans with a clue already realize this team is going to suck either way and would welcome watching young players playing instead of mid-30’s vets wasting at bats.

It's a player with some history of good play, who has shown some signs of being back to that old level, and is currently on a minor league contract in extended spring training. Nick Maton is your everyday DH, the team is batting under .200. Do not overthink this, nobody is blocked, dudes are getting hurt every day, and it's a long season. This is a chance of a solid player who you might flip at the deadline if things go well and a hedge against having to play Tristan Gray or Bobby Dalbec or something.
