Cannon is a bulldog.  Dude just battles.  If he can clean up a couple things and stay away from that big inning he's gonna be a solid starter in this league.

It's like Everyone Poops, except the GM version Everyone Fails!  As if that makes it all better.  Bottom line, every time Getz fails at another one of these, the timeline for the Sox falls further bac

At best he's a solid 4th starter. He might be a battler, he also throws a lot of cock shots right down broadway and walks way too many guys for that to work.

One of my favorite Vargas stats is he’s played in 63 games with the Sox and has had 3 multi-hit games

You can't roll in here, with a 0.75 BB/Inning rate and have any success. His control is just all over the place.

Yeah, he's got room for improvement for sure, and the walks are it.  But I don't think he has much more to go after that.

We wouldn't be so harsh on 6 IP 4 R from a starter if this team could score runs consistently. Buehler has done a good job getting out of trouble and making pitches when he needed to, but there are just too many black holes in this lineup that we know if the "good" players don't get it done then there's no shot.

You can't have a 6 era and be considered an indispensable rotation member unless you're on the White Sox or Rockies...his actual ERA is in the 4's but going along with your individual game performance analogy in the post.

I think Cannon is more of a 3 ER in 6 IP kind of pitcher, but everything is magnified when you do everything badly.

Has always hit well at Fenway....tailored for his stroke.

That's why I just wanted to flip him and Yoshida with subsidy/additional money coming White Sox way.

How does Middlebrooks feel about White Sox pitching after that horrific drop?

Seems like pitchers are trying to throw inside to Quero pretty consistently and he usually gets jammed (even though he's managed a couple hits when jammed thus far)

That fizzled out relatively quickly...

Sosa tagged that one, too. Unfortunate.

Laser-show Lenyn with another red-hot lineout. He's pretty good at missing that launch angle sweet spot that gives you homers.

Would like to see Murfee's luck even out a bit. When you strike guys out and never walk anyone, usually you do better than a 10.00 ERA.

Too excited about 2013, Boston Strong, Big Papi, interviewing J.Gomes and going on about the Boston Marathon.
