I don't need your  help to understand anything. If it's Sox related you hate on it . I cheer for the team to win despite how bad I know they are. You give me a laugh emoji for doing so. That's al

Maybe for Jerry?  Looks like that is the 4th highest salary for the Sox this year.

We figured out how to get Chris fired.

Bring up Elko while we’re at it.

Maybe the plan is when he is barring ,400 at Charlotte and then they'll put him in RF so they can keep coddling Vaughn.

Now we really don't need Josh Rojas with Workman also on the roster.

You've got Ramos, Baldwin (utility), Meidroth, Sosa, Vargas...very crowded infield (six, including Workman), but someone pretty much HAS to emerge and be at least above replacement level.

Hopefully/theoretically.

Baldwin, right now, looks really good...but he's not an everyday big league SS defensively, at least not yet.

I don't see Ramos being called up any time soon

Yeah...especially since they will now have to get some type of return on Rojas' relatively high salary.

$3.5 million?  Getz already wasted more than that on Slater and Tauchman.  Getz has wasted millions on garbage the past two offseasons, carrying on the tradition from Hahn.  All those million here and there wasted on garbage vets adds up.  But this is just par for the course.

More to do with Ramos' weak defense and lackluster results with the bat over the last year

But they simply refuse to pay for superstar, game changing talent. But as you said they will waste millions on stiffs, has been's, retreads and cast offs.

Last year, it was something in the vicinity of $30 million basically lit on fire for veterans who didn't finish the season with the team, roughly 40% of them being released or injured.

Bring in Canario if the Pirates DFA him and let’s start playing some young guys.  Rojas should sit home and eat ice cream while he earns his $3.5 million.  There is zero reason to play these vets.

I would like to see Elko get a chance.

What will they do with Rojas and Drury?

Rojas for Amaya is all I got. Someone else could get hurt or one of the OFs could be traded or released later. Maybe Elko for Vaughn in July.

For Drury, possibly Dalbec if he sucks.

Who even knows when Rojas will be back. I remember when he got hurt some were saying it would only be a few days or a week. It's been at least a month now. That must have been a bad fractured toe.

James Fegan reports that Rojas is about to start a rehab stint this week.

Stress reactions take 4-6 weeks just like a fracture. They are stable compared to fractures so players can play with them. Just depends on the pain tolerance and what the player is willing to deal with.
