The concourse was at a complete standstill, took me a full half inning to move a couple sections. I don't remember the crowding situation being that bad back in the day when 35k was more common. Either Sox fans don't know how to operate in crowds anymore or staffing was cut, idk but either way it was absolutely miserable. The concourse around the outfield at the Rate is a unique feature that has been enjoyed by fans with 100 level seats for years. As a 100 level ticket holder you can walk completely around the park and enjoy concessions everywhere. However, I believe that as of the 2026 season, 500 level ticket holders (the cheap seats) can now access the 100-level concourse. The wide concourses and the ability to walk all around the park are a unique feature of Rate Field/Sox park. Ideally, the Great Concourse should be available to 500 level ticket holders, but it is just not working. Unfortunately, they have to come up with another solution. I love being out there and meeting friends, but you just can't have everybody in the stadium hanging out at the bars and concessions out there. If you want to enjoy the concourses, meet friends out there, etc., pay a bit more to sit in the bleachers or anywhere else around the 100 level.

The difference is alcohol is heavily regulated. My main concern is kids getting targeted and hooked on garbage. The number of little fatties waddling around is jarring. Adults can do whatever they want. Hell, I’d legalize every drug and just regulate it, but that’s a whole other story. But most here disagree and that’s fine. Maybe I’m being dumb - wouldn’t be the first time. I’ll get off my stump about it. Edited May 13May 13 by Lukakke Appling Typo

Inside, just make it unique and functional. Don't have a huge upper level that will never fill up. A club level with more rows would be nice, maybe 10 instead of 6. A cool section in the outfield like the Miller Landing but with more seats and less SRO. A lower outfield section where balls could exit the stadium, maybe into the river, would be perfect. I haven't been to a lot of stadiums, but something like PNC Park with a ballpark village like St. Louis would be ideal. Sightlines with the city behind the outfield. As far as concessions, the Sox do a pretty good job with food and drinks. Don't sacrifice that for anything else. Avoid the long ramps/escalator ride like now just to get to the lower deck.I don't think it was mentioned yet, but yesterday's exchange between PCA and a Sox fan reminds me that I'd want a new ballpark to retain the field-level patio/bullpen bar in the outfield that we currently have and, of course, was a feature at Old Comiskey Park. If they're building on the Amtrak land with the idea of allowing HRs into the river, then a patio/bar area would have to go in LF instead of RF.
