Yesterday at 03:33 AM1 day Should be a reasonable expectation for Sox to range from #12-18 in spending (Brewers 19th, fwiw) in GRF and at least 9-12 in the first five years of new downtown facility...perhaps even slightly higher.Basically that's a $145-170 million range. It was much higher from 2021-23. This may be the strongest link I've seen between the current ownership group and Ishbia's stadium proposal. Sounds like a good idea to ask for fans input on ballpark features and amenities. I don't remember Jerry and Eddie doing that in 1989.

As the two highest-spending teams in the league (with payrolls and luxury tax bills eclipsing hundreds of millions of dollars), both franchises benefit from the current system of high spending and luxury taxes rather than a rigid cap that would restrict their ability to spend. That is not the Dodgers stance.Los Angeles TimesCommentary: Dodgers owner Mark Walter: 'We’ve got to have...MLB team owners, Mark Walter included, believe revenue disparity is the main reason a small-market team has not won the World Series in 11 years. The owners initial proposal had the floor around $170MM.

It could just lead to the “friends and family plan” players the Sox sign when going after their big free agent target getting paid even more than they are worth. Yesterday at 06:05 PM1 day regardless of the details I like the event, it's certainly something JR wouldn't have bothered with and it's forward focused beyond just the immediate season.

I'm going to call my ticket rep Monday and hopefully get an invite. I would really like to go.

He changed the design because he wanted another level of suites. The upper deck ruined the stadium. I hope they don't make the same mistake with the new stadium.

I hope they don't make the same mistake with the new stadium. He took a 1970s/80s-era generic baseball stadium design that was intended for suburban Addison and just had it plopped down at 35th & Shields and then made sure there were 3 luxury levels between the lower and upper deck. Looking bad, it's astounding how badly they messed up New Comiskey v1.0. At least they did an admirable job in renovating the place over 20 years ago. But some of the design flaws are baked in and can't be fixed by some more renovations.
