Sox made a game of it but, as usual, just didn't have enough gas left in the tank to close it out. The players like us are understandably tired of losing. IMO, Sox need to trade Luis Robert as soon as possible to rid the clubhouse of his presence. Put Michael Taylor out there until they figure out what to do next. I don’t agree with this. I have no faith in Fletcher but perhaps he breaks out? Didn’t Vargas do the same? Taylor is a sunk cost. He was $2 million bucks and he likely isn’t netting a prospect at the deadline. He can earn the rest of his money in the role he was intended to play when he was signed — a backup/fourth outfielder that can play all three OF spots. Regarding Robert, as much as I joke in the game threads about trading him immediately after every hit, it probably makes sense to wait until the deadline to try to trade him. Throw DeChoach out there as well for all I care. Figure out in the second half of the seasons if any of these bums can get hot and pan out like Vargas has done so far.
