Down by 1 in the 8th and Venable lets Capra lead off…after leaving Booser in to pitch to Ponzo.  God awful managing.

Capra was already in off the bench but begs to question why

Would you rather face Donovan?

This pen sucks regardless of managerial decisions.

It sucks but you still need to manage it, and Booser should not have been allowed to face that many batters after allowing the tie and then the error.

Hopefully the reason wasn't "Quero is the only guy available and he has to catch game 2 so we cant use him" because that's pretty weak.

He loves to use PR and needless subs and then leaves himself short handed late. Just classic overmanaged idiocy.

Venable is a horrible manager.  They really needed to get someone with managerial experience.

My guess is Venable doesn't make it to the next competitive Sox team

I agree, with a bunch of youngsters with a rebuild going on we needed a veteran manager not a rookie manager.
The thing is any good veteran manager probably doesn’t want anything to do with this dysfunctional organization.

Now up to Class A Salem.

"Fajardo was among the top arms in the Florida Complex League to begin the 2025 season. In six appearances (four starts) for the FCL Red Sox, the 18-year-old right-hander posted a 0.44 ERA and 2.71 FIP with 24 strikeouts to seven walks over 20 2/3 innings pitched. Opposing hitters batted just .134 against him."

Amazing

Not a fan of 120 loss teams trading a prospect for a 33 year old reliever?? What could go wrong..

Usually the prospects the longer they are here.
