Couldn't tell if him signing under slot was just a set-up for a bad pun or if that was a scenario.

  • I really miss Harold. Was really helpful for me and informative. I think fucking losers on this site finally chased him away. It’s a real shame if so.

  • I'm with you. Hard to argue about a left handed hitting OF with a patient approach and some notable thump with solid tools across the board. I take this all day at 44.

  • Yea same. Imagine chasing off an insider who routinely would feed the board tidbits on draft intel, trade info, and knowledge on the inner workings of the org. Shows how shitty and petty some of

If he signs under slot, that would be a Fauskeian bargain.

Law REALLY wanted to work that pun in

Guessing that means between Carlson and this kid, they are close to pool neutral.

They have to be over. I doubt Carlson is signing for $800K underslot. I'm guessing in the $5.8-$6 million range.

Anyway…Keith Law sure did like our draft.  I don’t always agree with his takes and he certainly has some strong biases, but the dude is a great talent evaluator and really knows position players.  As such, it’s good he endorsed our haul.

All right, we can get back to talking about the draft / Sox farm system.

I mean Jeremy Haber was a supposed leak to many anonymous White Sox Twitter accounts so this is kind of funny actually.

That doesn't leave a lot of room for the rest of the signings does it?

The 5% overage alone is worth $600k and all the seniors they signed in rounds they could theoretically save another $700k or so.  As long as Carlson is at slot, they should probably have enough to cover the couple of other overslot guys.

Jimmy already said all 20 picks are signing.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest there was any risk.  There weren’t any Hail Mary HS picks in rounds 11 to 20 to worry about and teams wouldn’t burn picks and the slot bonus they come with in the first 10 rounds.  More just trying to show the math would work.

So that makes about $1.2 mil they need to make up.

I think someone said Boughton ended up agreeing to a figure that allowed them to push him down to #11, so my guess is he is he’s getting around $300k.

DePino getting $150k is pretty interesting.

Sox have $932K remaining with just Kyle Lodise left to sign.

Sox staff really believes in his ability to hit and all his batted ball data.

I assume that includes the 5%?

Yes. With the 5% overage, they have $12,777,555 to spend and they've spent $11,844,600.

Was Lodise offered more than $932k a few days ago?
