I say this with all due respect of Bruce Levine... the man is terrible at his job, and worthless as a,reporter. What was the last thing he broke besides wind?

  • Out of curiosity, when has he said this

  • I would like to see Naylor signed  by the White Sox this off season. Bruce Levine keeps saying the  White Sox are going to sign some good hitters this off season. I hope Naylor is one of them.

This probably puts AZ in the sellers camp.

Yeah that was reported earlier

After reading about the prospects this deal doesn’t seem too bad. Naylor was a rental which I forgot about.

He also adds a considerable amount to the team’s food budget.

That’s not a huge haul. I can see why the M’s did it. Nice rental for them.

Honestly, me too. Not like they have anyone else at 1B

Wait, I thought Tim Elko should start every game for the next year and a half. Apparently, Tim Elko is not in YOUR plans.

Doesn’t seem like a bad return.  Two top 20 prospects from a good farm system including one arm who was basically a 2nd round pick back in 2022.  Seems ok for a rental 1B.

He brought the La Russa hire possibility pretty damn early.

Is that better than the draft pick they would have gotten for offering the QO?

I want to say Nightengale was like a week or two ahead of everyone.

He was definitely the first.  I remember at the time that it was coming off of Hahn’s press conference in which all the qualities he described in the next manager he was looking for fit Hinch to a T.  So it made no sense when Nightengale was basically saying TLR was a lock to be the next manager, other than the Jerry connection.  It really seemed like he was way off, but unfortunately he was right.  It really showed how Hahn and Jerry weren’t on the same page.  Hahn definitely wanted Hinch but Jerry overruled his decision for his old buddy.  Remember how depressed Hahn looked in the press conference when he had to announce TLR as the next Sox manager?  That was brutal to watch but also hilarious because it was at that moment Hahn was officially neutered in front of all Sox fans and we realized he could barely make any decisions on his own between Jerry and Kenny.

All of Soxtalk was laughing at it, and then it turned like the Anakin meme.

Elko is not in the future plans of the White Sox.  If it was up to me I would give him a shot at first base for at least a month. Looks like the team is not going to give him a chance.

Levine has said this on the Score morning show a few times the last few weeks including this morning. We shall see. I hope he's right.

I did not realize that Naylor is a bad defensive first baseman. I thought he might be a good sign for next year but nope.

I mean, our payroll will be almost nothing next year.  There will be room a couple decent additions even if Jerry is still getting his debts in order.

They probably need a 1B, I just have nightmares of them in the past with a roster of these 1B/DH types.

I would think that Quero and Teel will both be in the lineup next season (probably more DH) and Vargas is also in the mix with occasional 1B. Do they just use a mix of those guys or Sosa? It does seem like an area they could make an obvious upgrade at.

Naylor didn't bring Cleveland a haul when sent to Arizona either.

I'd pass on Naylor.  Need better defenders (and players with some speed).
