6 Shut out innings meant more to his trade value then 6.2 of 3 run ball, that's for sure. 

There was 0 reason to keep him in. Personally I think Houser mentally checked out of the game thinking he would be removed after 6. All of a sudden he lost his command despite the pitch count. 

There is zero chance a team’s offer got worse after this outing. And it would have not gotten better if he didn’t give up that homer.

I often wonder what the value is in this other than fulfilling our sense of trade frenzy.

This team has young arms that still need to be stretched.  They can do the dumpster dive route but there will also be more teams involved in the dumpster dive.

How does this team benefit from it?   that I'm not so sure. 

We try to rationalize it but never look at the results. They only results we cherish is if the carriage turns into a pumpkin. 

 This seems exclusive to baseball more than any other sport.

I can't recall ever seeing the Sox play like this for a week in the previous 2 seasons.

Even if it short term we should enjoy it.
