Such bad managing.  He didn’t even have anyone warming up last inning

We needed a tested veteran manager instead of a guy who is going through OJT but when you have a cheapskate owner that’s what you get.

Who was available that you’d actually want? I’m fine with him growing with the team.

How the hell did that swing result in a homer?

Because it was a great swing, I hope Robert paid attention on how to go down and get to the baseball.

I love Mead. Also the player seems okay too.

One thing going for Mead is he came up through the Rays organization, when they bring up a guy he’s had had good minor league training. Mead with the bat should get better because he never had a long run with the Rays, unfortunately when Vargas comes back he’s going to be in the same situation.

Nice stress free save by Taylor to take the team lead with 4. I imagine Yankees fans are pretty thankful.

JRam made the last out to finish an 0-5 day for him, and a 1-13 series (the one hit was that fake double in game 1). Maybe his worst series vs. the Sox in recent memory?

They held Raleigh to 1-12 (a single) in Seattle too despite the sweep. Shutting down the opponent's biggest threat is not a bad goal to have playing in this division.

For a bunch of those managers, I feel like I can remember some board hate for them (Phil Nevin?). As for any of them, they all become stupid once their team starts losing. And every single criticism of Venable would apply to them (not warming up a reliever at the beginning of every inning, not starting the 9 best players 162 games in a perfectly arranged batting order, etc.).

There's really about a small handful of candidates who truly suck. They can't command a clubhouse, or are rage addicted, or have really weird ideas of how to manage a ballgame, pitching staff, or whatnot.
