Man can you imagine if Chase didn't make that routine error after I pumped up his defense

Always happens lol.

  • In all honesty - as much as it stinks - most of the young players did well at the plate and the pitchers like Smith did good - other ones who aren’t part of the long haul drove the loss.

  • I truly think that kid could end up being a star but they need to stick him in one spot on the field and leave him there so he can get better at that position.  Moving him all over does him no favors

Chase with a great play, Smith really gutted it out tonight.

There’s one arm worth keeping in this entire bullpen

Vasil and Taylor for sure. Wilson is fine in like the 6/7 inning role. Alexander has been ok. But Pallete and Winklemman should be up.

Forgot Vasil, and I like him more than most but he has some horrible peripherals

I’m good with Katz and bullpen coach being sent packing

bullpen era is overrated.  I'll take clutch over era

Eisert and Leasure are fine by me. Alexander has been a mighty fine warm body IMO.

In general, this game isn't bothering me that much because it's just not that bad of an omen when your young offense scores a bunch of runs and a bunch of old guys blow the lead

There’s winners

And losers

Does anyone know what percentage of inherited runners is for this team? It seems like if these guys start the inning clean they tend to kind of be average for a bullpen but if they have to come in with guys on they just can’t find their way out clean and it just snowballs.

Also think if Booser can stay healthy (to be fair, he literally never has which is why he's such a "fresh" arm in his 30s) could bring value in the coming years. He's one of the few actually talented players among the organization's bullpen options

The overall pitching is overhyped and overrated.......those that don't fall under that get traded

Not sure if it changes anything, but interesting that MAT wasn't in late for defense.

Probably need to shuffle in a fresh arm or two for tomorrow with Perez still limited.

Knights game got postponed so everyone is rested, but I don't think Wikelman or Booser have been down long enough since their last call ups?

Maybe we see Iriarte, unless there's a phantom IL for someone.

late inning losses after having the lead is the only stat.

Why not.  It's been a while since the bullpen had a good meltdown.

Of course, with Gilbert, Peguero, Alexander, you can't be surprised.

Sox bullpen entered tonight 11th best at preventing inherited runners from scoring (but most teams allow a very similar percentage to score so the difference between like 5th best and 5th worst is very small)

Dude, our BP combined salaries is, what, less than $5M. The f*** you expect?  It’s a rebuilding year.

14th time this year the team took a lead into the 7th inning or later and wound up losing the game.

Garbage, up and down, in and out.

I saw where it was 10-4 went to get something to eat and nearly lost it when I saw the final.

Tomorrow they'll get loss #82 guaranteeing them their 13th losing season since the start of 2007.

🤡

17 runs given up in the last two innings of the past 3 games. Incredible

Wilson has certainly had an "interesting" past 72 hours hasn't he?

🤡

Aaron Bummer, $3.5 million this year, a whopping $9.5 million next year…like a Joe Kelly or Kendall Graveman salary

More like it's been a rebuilding decade. 😉
