Yeah but every time the season ends a part of me just gets down. No matter how bad the team is. I mean last year was probably the exception

Same here.  Always regret not watching enough baseball. I do get to see the Fall League and hopefully get to see the other Montgomery and Smith.  Baseball you really don't care about is fun.  I didn't realize in my neighborhood there's a road called Ballpark Way that takes you to the Ranch.  Last year every game I was at Colson played 3rd and he was good at that.

Tiger fans had it worse

At least they are dancin. Hopefully in the not too near future, end of the season collapses mean something for us as well.

Oh, and my condolences to Astros' fans....I hope Matress Mack didn't lose too  much $$.

looking like it. Greg Soto is wild, Marlins might add on here. Bottom of Mets order up in the 9th.

two surprises - Met's choked and Marlins almost played .500.

Now every cheapass owner will look at the Mets as an excuse to stay cheapass.

The Mets are currently running a payroll of $320M

Taylor's retiring.

Yea, he’s not an aging prospect; he shouldn’t have been on my “do not keep on the 40-man” list anyway. He could get a contract for a couple of more years with some team if he wanted to still play.   Good luck to him.
I wish Fletcher had gotten more time in Chicago this year.   He was an early Getz trade.  He hasn’t been great, but no one else they’ve put out there has been either.  Barfield must have seen something in him for the Sox to trade for him.

IMO, Baldwin, while being a good athlete, somehow lacks the ability to judge the trajectory of flyballs.  I am not sure why...perhaps it has to do with seeing and gauging the ball's trajectory off the bat or positioning his feet and his glove to make the catch.  Conversely, he doesn't seem to have any issues catching ground balls and throwing. Maybe he could be a candidate for first base next season if he can continue to hit for power and the Sox really don't have a first basemen.

As far as Meidroth, I am just not sure if he should be penciled in at second base next season, without some effort to find a better  alternative. He is more Madrigal than Pedroia and I was never a Madrigal fan from the minute the Sox selected him in the Draft.  Sox fans want more HR, which is why I think we saw more fans than expected come out when they saw a couple of guys hitting them.

Fletcher's a good fielder and had a solid hit tool through the minors with a little pop.

Please don't waste your breath selling Charlotte AAA outfielders as anything but what they are for 2026...although potentially the Sox can trade them to CLE for pitching.

You should probably read the string.
