Quero Being Shopped

Featured Replies

I think we can all agree that Quero only playing twice a week is dumb and he needs to play to keep developing. 1B may not be ideal long term, but it’s better than him riding the bench burning service time for nothing.

I'm quite a Quero truther, so it would take quite the return to make me not hate this.

  • Feels like it’s too early to trade for need.  I don’t see the rush in dealing him.

  • With ABS being a thing next year, the value of framing will be decreased (although definitely not eliminated). Quero's biggest weakness is his framing, it cost him about 1.5 wins of value last year. I

Sure....max out the potential trade returns for Vargas Sosa and maybe/probably even Meidroth over the next two seasons.

Let Quero hit somewhere in the lineup at least 5 times per week.

Dump Mead.

Mead was more likely to get on base in any given plate appearance last year than the Sox were to win the draft lottery.

That tells you how fortunate we should feel right now.

Not sure Mead had the best overall odds of reaching base vis a vis his teammates.

Most Sox fans were probably expecting 6-7 though. Was 7 even a possibility?

They should have put 10-12 on the board from the very beginning but "revealed" them just for more dramatic effect I guess.

Same with the following year's Sox pick one year from now...automatically in that 10-17/18 range.

How so? If you can get a promising OF in return then it's trading from a strength to improve a glaring weakness

better scouting and development could avoid much of that

it's the blueprint of s%*# organizations

I definitely get that. I'm not all in on trading Quero by any means. But you can always look at it the other way too. If Teel ends up being the guy they and many of us think he can be while Quero regresses or fails to further develop, then you may have missed a great opportunity to bring in a potential future starting OF.

It's definitely a risk. Trades are hard! That's why I would completely suck ass as a GM. Well, that and 100 other reasons.

That makes you highly qualified to be the Sox GM

I like the concept but Crawford is an outlier ground ball machine who really doesn’t play a good centerfielder. I don’t want him.

Those are the guys Getz likes

3 grinders for Quero sounds about right. All 2nd basemen.

Yep that’s absolutely what Teel and Braden are.

Well, yeah. And so would spending money on good players.

Just spitballing

Quero/Robert to the Reds for

Sal Stewart & a top 6 prospect? don’t know that the Reds would trade Stewart but if so getting him back would be a solid get kid can hit

The Red supposedly offered us two top prospects last year for Robert, if we were willing to pick up contract.

that's the clicker..........no one really knows so it's sources say

Would a budget GM really do that on a guy you hope to get 100 games out of him?

I am waiting for Jerry to kick the bucket.

Reds had the perfect opportunity to sign hometown kid Schwarber and passed.

They were one legit middle of the order hitter away.

Will probably end up trading Hunter Greene for prospects instead.

Hopefully...we are not bad at that any longer.
