Young pitching prospects get to the majors quicker if they go the bullpen route.

And why do we need them here that quickly?

Well yeah, cuz they get thrown in a bullpen which isn’t as vital a role as a good starting pitcher in your rotation.

Sox are winning the division in 2026.  Ron has decreed it.  So shall it be.

In order to compete as best we can as soon as we can.

The poster is named  oldsox.  Some of us can't wait.

I think moving guys like Aldrin Batista and Mathias LaCombe to relief roles in advance of R5 makes sense. Smith, Schultz and McDougal are basically their only hope for awhile at top of rotation arms. They must stay in rotation.

How about  Vasil in rotation?  Of course taylor too, although I guess Bannister & Co. have injury concerns (so I've read).
Ma
ybe try Cannon in pen?

You just hit the nail on the head for a lot of people tired of perpetual rebuilding.

Cannon sucks so might as well.

Another overslot 3 year college pitcher

How about this for a thought.  Typically the best path to being an effective major league starter, is to start games as much as possible.  Are there exceptions?  Sure.  Are most starters brought to the majors as starters?  Also yes.

Should move him to the pen, switch him to a 4 seam/cutter pitcher (should be hitting 97 with 92/93 on the cutter out of the bullpen) and have him kill righties. He's always been a good bit better against righties than lefties.

I remember the overslot prep arms who never even made the majors. Cannon signed for like $900K I believe. Great value in round 3.

I think theres something to this. People discount or fail to pay attention to the psychological aspect of these kids at this point in their career. If they feel they stall, where they should be continuing to advance, it 100 percent has a role in their development. I think this was certainly the case with Colson. Everyone is so obsessed with numbers and peripherals that the head is ignored. I think with the talent of these two specifically they could just come up and take right off.

I hope you are right but I think that is wishful thinking. The American leauge is not a developemental league.
