2026 MILB Catch-All

Was looking at past trades and looked up Truman Pauley. Wow that guy is wild. Makes hagen Smith look like he has command. 76 innings 66 hits and 88 Ks, but 55 walks. If they could ever fix him he seems to have good stuff. Just can't find the plate. 6.5 walks per 9 innings. Been starting all year and it's 1-9 at Kanny.

Awesome Law piece on Jacob Gonzalez and the hitting development with Fuller. Now if only our pitching development could take a step forward like this. How the White Sox’s Jacob Gonzalez went from firs

The White Sox being able to fix offensive players is something I'd never thought I'd see either.

Ryan Burrowes to AA. I think that means Roch to A+

Any word on Casey Saucke? Crazy he could miss two full seasons.

Says they found a mechanical tweak in June that's working well for him

Couple of random questions:

How are the two pitchers the Sox selected in the Rule 5 draft that were sent back to Boston and Tampa fairing this year?

Seems like Getz is still owed some PTBNL from other teams in pending transactions. Any update?

Plus 67 walks, 9 hbp, and 87 hits allowed in 98.2 IP. That's legitimately crazy. 24 appearances, 23 starts and 98 innings. His pitch counts have to be off the charts.

It’s the weakest part of the farm, they need to develop more resources to the outfield.

System wide, the amount of talent in the starting pitching and outfield ranks, leaves a lot to be desired.

that's what overdrafting SS are for

Best Pure Hitter: UCLA SS Roch Cholowsky (1) was the No. 1 overall pick for many reasons, but the expectation that he could be an impact hitter was a primary one. He makes a ton of contact and has an excellent college track record, including a .329 career batting average, 11.7% strikeout rate and 12.1% walk rate. High school picks SS Landon Thome (1s) and 2B Cole Prosek (2) could also become above-average pure hitters.

Best Power Hitter: Cholowsky’s (1) contact/power combination was one of the best in the 2026 class. He hit more than 20 home runs in each of his last two college seasons and finished his UCLA career with 52. He also had 41 doubles, a .624 slugging percentage and a .295 isolated slugging percentage. Wichita State 3B Jayson Jones (7) and Vanderbilt OF Braden Holcomb (12) both have tons of raw power but need to cut down on their strikeouts.

Fastest Runner: New Jersey high school OF Alex Weingartner (6) signed the fourth-largest bonus in this White Sox class. He has an explosive toolset, which includes 80-grade speed.

Best Defensive Player: Cholowsky (1) would have been the pick for many teams as the best defensive infielder in the class. He is a gifted shortstop who has ultra-reliable hands, great actions and a cannon of an arm. He should compete for Gold Glove awards.

Best Fastball: Oklahoma LHP Cameron Johnson (15) has electric arm speed from the left side and a fastball that sits in the mid 90s and has been up to 98. It’s a potential plus offering and he has both a four-seam and two-seam variant.

Best Secondary Pitch: Georgia RHP Joey Volchko (3) has a unique slider that combines excellent power, spin and movement in a way that’s rare for an amateur pitcher. He throws the pitch in the upper 80s and low 90s with more than 13 inches of gloveside movement and more than 2,900 rpm spin.

Best Pro Debut: Holcomb (12) played 15 games after signing—13 with Low-A Kannapolis and two with High-A Winston-Salem—and slashed .321/.424/.607 with two home runs and six doubles.

Best Athlete: Weingartner (6) is an obvious candidate for this category given his physical tools and speed, but Cholowsky (1) could be the pick, too, given his well-rounded game, body control and background as a high-level high school quarterback.

First baseman Anthony DePino, who hit .260/.357/.482 in Double-A this season, underwent a procedure to address a left shoulder/lat injury. Hard-throwing right-handed reliever Pierce George, who struck out 82 in 65 ⅔ innings across four minor league levels this season, suffered an olenacron fracture in his pitching elbow.
