Guy is 26 with one solid season under his belt two years ago and is arbitration eligible next season. He'd be swapping CF Robert for 3B/1B Robert. At least Acuna is younger and can maybe possibly play CF.Agreed. The Sox have made tons of mistakes but I don’t think passing on Vientos is one of them. He has a similar profile to Vargas and Sosa. They already don’t have enough room for Sosa as it is so I’m not sure where Vientos would’ve fit on this team anyway.

Vargas is separating himself from that profile.

April 9Apr 9 Mets: Did you ever consider not swinging at pitches out of the zone?Luis Robert: YOU CAN DO THAT?!?!?

April 9Apr 9 Walking more and chasing less is good in general, but I watched this AB from him a couple games ago and kind of hated the passivity:The actual bat is too good for me to want him chasing a walk down one in the 8th with a runner on. But the Mets lineup is less dependent on his power so maybe it balances out. Other guys came through behind him and they won IIRC.

You're never swinging at pitch 4 with a chance to have 1,2 and no one out in a game your losing by 1 in the 8th inning.Pitch 5, just based off the image, is another take. And then pitch 6, I guess you can make the case for it being too close to take in a full count. Pitch 5 & 6 were just really good pitches in this at bat location wise.

April 9Apr 9 He started 2025 with an high walk rate (17%) but wasn't hitting the ball. Clearly something he's been working on.
