Maybe he'll at least see 3000 pitches.

Fun to see him ketchup to the pitch even though it had a little mustard on it

Our old friend Reynaldo Lopez get the start the other day and went 5 strong with 1 ER. I always had a soft spot for him, even if his pitching drove us wild at times.\ He pitched well again last night

Kimbrel just recorded a save for KC against the Tigers

Gonzo in Pitt: 203/220/392 for a 612 OPS and -.4 bWAR.

Time is soon coming for all of the doomers on that trade to eat it. Of course, they won’t. They’ll just b**** about something else.

When Crochet signed his six-year, $170 million extension with Boston, the contract included a player opt-out following the 2030 season. However, there was also a protection clause for the Red Sox if Crochet missed at least 120 consecutive days because of an arm injury.

That clause has now been triggered.

Crochet's 2030 opt-out is voided, meaning he can no longer choose to leave Boston after that season. Instead, the Red Sox now control an additional year of his contract and have gained a $15 million club option for 2032.

In other words, what has been a nightmare season for Crochet has created a significant benefit for Boston from a contract standpoint.

Yahoo sports

Of course 2030 calls for $28 million and 2031 $30 million…

Also, Crochet is back to throwing from 90-120 feet in recent days.

There’s good cause to be upset about Boston… but there were quite a lot of folks Gonzo being traded “for Landon Thome.”

I disagree. I don't recall a lot of folks upset over trading Gonzo, other than he was a great kid, etc. Gonzo, in the best part of his minor league career, never approached Boston Smith's offensive numbers. Plus, Sox got a pretty good prospect in Thome.

I think the trade got the other high school guy. I felt they were always going to find a way to land Thome but I am kind of baseball draft ignorant as its not like other drafts.

This. Prosek was the add.

Two things:

1.) People are livid and even followed his production at Pittsburgh. “Gonzo hit a homer against the Guardians. Sure could have used that.” Blah blah blah. Yet then when he began to fall off, get pushed down the lineup, and was removed from the everyday lineup - it was crickets.

2.) I put Thome’s name in quotes when referencing “the return” because that was wha People incorrectly equated the trade as representing. While partially true, it’s incomplete. Without that additional bonus space we wouldn’t have gotten three arguable first rounders.

If you really think people weren’t upset - refresh your memory.
