9 wins before May for the first time since 2021. Date to beat for 10 is 5/4. Would you believe the Sox are 3 games back in the wild card race? Lots of early underperformances across the AL, and only s

  • It is nice to see this team win the first game of a series more often this year. I feel like they've had a knack for dropping the first game of a series for quite some time now.

If Murakami homers today it'll tie the Sox record for most consecutive games with a HR (5). https://www.mlb.com/stories/game-preview/825097?storylocal=web-scores-preview-embed

That was 50% a contract dump whether you like it or not

The Rangers were vying for their first World Series in their existence. Calling the acquisition of the most dominant starter on the market a "salary dump" is certainly a choice. Unless you think the Rangers were dumping Acuña's minor league contract. Or only half of it. LOL

That was on July 30th, 2023, almost three full years ago. A lot has changed since then, and I’m sure once the Mets saw what we are currently seeing from Acuna, their opinion of him changed. Getz relying on those scouting reports from 2023 and 2024 definitely wasn’t a wise strategy. 🤣

Maybe so. They did run him out of options and were looking to compete for a pennant this year. They don't really have the resources to try to develop a player at the MLB level.

Start the game you cowards my work day is OVAH

"Nevertheless, the Mets are at a place with Acuna where it doesn’t look like they’ll get much at all from him. Re-grading this now, a C- is the best we can do. A large part of it comes from the fact the Mets were able to shed salary, open a roster spot, and make 2024 memorable without him. Chances are, if this trade gets another re-grade in 2026, it’s going to be worse."

What scouting report was he reading to make him think he was a switch hitter??

If MLB.tv would stop making me login every other day that would be great.

That lineup sucks. Why in god's name would you put Quero in front of Colson? Why would have have acuna and chase back to back to flip the lineup?

conceding the game because a lefty is on the mound, figure he's getting his backups at bats in a game they likely would have trouble winning anyways (my theory)

At this point it's been a thing for the last 4 managers and it clearly comes from above imo. We really love overly resting guys especially so early in the season. Let guys get going and get a lather going, rest them in August if they are tired and have high stress indicators.

God I miss the days of pick to click. Now we have degenerate odds on +500 bets.

I lasted all of 1 batter with John. Over to Angels broadcast. Good turn Meidroth, let's go!

It's gotten to the point where even LHP are a bit shook on Mune.

good job putting him on motion, now lets get a run.

lol, good rip, just fooled. good eye for the walk.

holy s%*# he took a walk

biggest spot in the inning and we have our slap hitting catcher up.

Not sure what this means. Unless the Mets front office wrote this blurb at the time of the trade, they took Acuña back straight up for Scherzer.

This is an insanely stressful inning for Rodriguez

this guy sucks. good job letting him walk you.
