Colson, Murakami and Vargas hitting well is far more important than what these mediocre pitchers do in the long run.

9 wins before May for the first time since 2021. Date to beat for 10 is 5/4. Would you believe the Sox are 3 games back in the wild card race? Lots of early underperformances across the AL, and only s

  • It is nice to see this team win the first game of a series more often this year. I feel like they've had a knack for dropping the first game of a series for quite some time now.

Colson is currently 7th in all of MLB in RAA defensively on Fangraphs. I think it's time to consider that he's a full time SS until he's in his late 20s.

Hope they continue to hit homers when they are back in town. A revival of the SouthSide Hitmen please.

How come I get the feeling we’re going to see significant outfield changes in the next month? Braden?

If MLB.tv would stop making me login every other day that would be great.

Thought this was just happening to me…

Colson hits a bomb, high fives the boys, and is instantly reviewing tape on the iPad in the dugout

You know Teel is dying to geek out over some tape in there

Nearly anyone else in the league is out there

I'm a little leery of bringing him up too soon, but I will defer to the more knowledgeable minor league fans here.

@BamaDoc What you think. Can we see a similar timeline to Colson? (July 4th callup)

laughing my ass off, hey will why not let him give up 6 more runs

JOE WEST WTF ARE YOU DOING

I thought it was a balk because it was the third disengagement, not because of any particular movement

HES A LEFTY AND HAS USED THAT MOVE THE ENTIRE TIME HES BEEEN IN THE LEAGUE

fucking trash

FWIW I'm a big Braden fan but I think he is very much the kind of player you could ruin by rushing him. He's got big whiff rates

Kay just horrid tonight

yea he was garbage after that easy first inning. He tired and you can see why he wasn't a big priority in MLB I guess. Just a mop up swing guy realy.

Taking out Kay because we want a different flavor when the runs score

Not sure what the guy ever did to be deserving of $12 million guaranteed. He was always terrible in the majors. Even before tonight, he seemed to be getting lucky on some hard hit balls each start.

Are you saying that the Sox would have the best record in baseball if only they'd run the best players out there every day? Because if this team is "LMFAO bad" as you keep telling us, then the whole point is to give the guys you traded for a run to see what they are and can do. Everson Pereira was 0-6 in his first two games and missed a cut-off man. Guess they should have DFAed him, right?

Also, Colson has played 16 of 23 games at SS. 4 of those games saw him moved to 3B, and 1 at DH. He's gotten 2 games off. The 2 players who have played SS in Monty's absence (Murray, Acuña) are actually better, defensively, than Monty.

Neither murray or acuna are better defensive shortstops than montgomery. There's only two shortstops in baseball that have graded out better than colson since he was called up last year. He's one of the best defensive players in the MLB. Not starting him at ss everyday is fing malpractice
