Trouble in Paradise: Too many lefties

Featured Replies

The Sox whole damn lineup is lefties basically. The only right-handed regulars are Vargas and Meidroth. This team will get eaten alive if we face a good lefty when we make the playoffs. What's the solution here? Is trading for a right handed DH the obvious move? They really could use a righty between Mune and Colson.

Don't worry Ron. Roch will be up for the playoff run.

There's never such a thing as too many savages, Ron.

Our lineup is actually fine vs even LHP (see below WRC+ vs LHP not including tonight's game):

Murakami 137

Montgomery 135 (he's actually slightly better vs LHP than RHP at least so far)

Vargas 217 (!!!)

Grichuk 113 (it will go way up after tonight)

Meidroth 164 (!!!)

Romo 121

Antonacci 7 (ok that's bad but you can platoon him with Pereira against lefties)

Pereira 206 (!!!)

I'm not gonna count Beni because he shouldn't be in the lineup regardless of the pitcher.

And ofcourse when Braden comes up he is a switch hitter. This lineup is full of guys that also kill lefties. Even the two big savages are very good against lefties.

Well, there’s your/another argument for Roch over Emerson…
