Maybe you were too young to experience Jerry's Chicago Bulls in the 1990's with Michael Jordan. Jerry spent a lot on those historic teams. I have a few friends that were WSox fans for years but their hatred for Reinsdorf now is palpable. Some of them refuse to go to another game until the Reinsdorfs no longer have a controlling interest in the team. Problem for them is that some of them may predecease JR. Also, there is no guarantee that whatever the roster is 8 years from now is anywhere near as good as the current one.

Tray, we know about those championships. The most recent one was 21 years ago now. Let’s be honest, that’s a long time ago now.

Also, the Sox payroll in 2005 was pretty much middle of the pack in the MLB — 13th overall.
