Sorry, completely forgot Kyle Teel.

Ooops!!!!!

I’d rather the focus be on signing an impact starting pitcher, elite bat, and a couple bullpen badasses first before we focus on extensions.

Elite bats are Teel Braden and Cholowsky.

There's not even one elite FA hitter.

Jazz Chisholm is not that.

Pitcher you're looking at Peralta, Michael King, Imanaga in FA, trading for Alcantara or a fading Luis Castillo, Jacob deGrom if the Rangers continue to scuffle, but that AL West division remains completely wide open at the moment.

Ishbia is not relevant to contract negotiations/extensions at this point and may not be for several years (2034?) Meanwhile his team at Shore is trying to determine the cost of building a bridge over the canal. They may be on the wrong track so to speak.

Or as early as three years from now.

If they trade Mune Vargas Colson Martin he's going to be run out of town on a rail...to go with your track analogy.

Mune will be long gone unless he is signed to a new Contract before it expires in less than two years. Correct? Vargas will also have to be signed.

Ishbia has never indicated that he would personally guarantee mega player contracts yet some fans believe he would. That would seem to be at odds with his private equity DNA and possibly with his personal values. Ishbia, owns the Nashville SC so it is odd that he would want a stadium located behind the Fire FC. Maybe if the RR yard deal falls through, Ishbia tanks the WSox and moves them to Nashville.

Yes, unfortunately it will be up to Jerry to resign Murakami to a $300+ million dollar deal. How are you feeling about the chances of that happening?

Since it’s going to be paid with other people’s money, I’d say pretty good.

I’m hoping these guys are for real, if they are and make it to the post-season I’d love to keep the starting lineup core intact and that means extend Mune, Colson, Vargas, Attonacci, Meidroth and Teel.

Meidroth would probably be the lowest priority of that group...then Antonacci.

Think core player, or complementary piece?

He might as well burn down his mega mansion and PE HQ lol.

Nashville hasn't committed any money to a public stadium...and they announced that won't in the future after the Titans' facility.

They also would be surrendering the Chicago media market (3rd in US), they wouldn't be the only pro team in town like SD, don't enjoy California weather or proximity to the Japanese market.

Probably the last place Japanese players would choose to live in the US, too

Is Chicago or Nashville a private equity hub in the US? Plus the brothers have professional, sports and personal ties to Michigan, which is much closer to Illinois.

The only plausible connection is Vanderbilt University.

I never want to hear about Nashville again.

I think shopping at the Dollar Store will end once Ishbia takes the reins. The Sox will accumulate talent not stock teams with elite playoff pitchers like jerry has done.

You ever heard of the Phoenix Suns? One of the billionaire owners of the White Sox has ACTUALLY been involved in spending big money on players in the last few years and it isn't Jerry.

Yeah neither guy should be extended, as honestly you have better guys coming in the pipeline.

Or Ishbia's nefarious private equity schemes for the White Sox.

I believe this is what Veeck did when he went out and signed Ron LeFlore as a free agent since he knew the next owner would be paying for that contract.

Plus, as much as I dislike the way Jerry runs this team, he did hand out big extension to his young core last time around. So, there is precedent for that. Vargas doesn't become a free agent until after 2030 and Colson until after the 2032 season. Really, it's only Mune being a FA after next season that I'd be worried about right now.

I would not be surprised if Roch, Jacob Gonzales, or some other prospect have better skills in certain areas than Meidroth, Vargas, Colson or Antonacci. However the current players fit perfectly within a team concept. No reason at all to mess with what has been working. Maybe trade prospects for what this team could really use - TOR starters, late inning set-up relievers, and a Closer.

I want to see the White Sox win now, As a White Sox fan, I could care less about Ishbia. I doubt that the greed and avarice exemplified in the acquisition and construction of his Winnetka estate or his corporate dealings should lead anyone to believe that he will spend one cent of his personal fortune on player contracts. I just read about the lawsuit against Ishbia by minority Shareholders of the Suns. That influenced my thoughts about the Ishbia "$$$$$" in this thread.

Glue guys have places on MLB rosters, as long as their production is positive. Both Chase and Sam, early in their careers, are showing themselves to be competent MLB ball players. We aren’t in the locker room, but even from the outside it’s clear that the two of them are part of the team’s core personality. We made fun of Hawk for his TWTW theory, but there is something to it.

If they can’t carry their weight, I’m with you. But it’s clear Getz and team value bringing in the right people as much as they value bringing in the right players.

So watching him spend hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts in Phoenix doesn't convince you that he is willing to spend? I mean you can argue the results of his spending, but it was absolutely done. Maybe you are traumatized by notorious private equity mogul Jerry Reinsdorfs unwillingness to spend, but we 100% have a real life history to go off of in the case of Ishbia. You don't need to make s%*# up and stay in your feelings.

A lot of talent in the infield with Jacob Gonzalez, Bonemer, and Roch upcoming. Carlson as well. I'm a big Antonacci stan, and Meidroth is on pace for a 3-4 WAR season. Will have to start flipping some of these guys in the near future.
